As it stands, 90% of the community are already running Heavies and Scouts? It also seems as if everyone has CR, AR, and RR Operations to at least level 3. What possible FOTM could these players skill into? Everyone who has stayed up to this point in the game already has everything they need.
Personally, I want a respec to fill out some core skills that I am lacking. I would also like to skill out of my proto Gal and Cal Scouts and redistribute those points into Galmandos, Plasma Cannons, and Ion Pistols. |

A few ideas:
1. Some don't want to have to re-skill, because clicking buttons and remembering what you use is hard.
2. Others still believe that our choices matter.
3. A few think living with the consequences of CCPs choices instead of your own is fine and dandy (but refer to #1 as well).
4. Some still think no respecs prevents FOTM.
5. Some think CCP lacks time/resources for it.

Because I would have to redistribute everything bro and I don't want to do that because you simply want to skill into that those new flavors.

I honestly believe giving people a respec would increase the variety of playstyles we see in game. Also that a lot of people who still care enough to play this game would skill into something that seems more fun instead of more dominant. Not everyone, but quite a lot. Also it'd be a much quicker way to gauge the impact of hot fixes.

If it was some feature where you could individually pay for one or like Alabastor said, a optional respec per 6 or 12 months, then yes.
All respecs would do at this time is help people skill into FOTM. While I don't give a damn, that might do more harm than good. Shrugs.

The game is already dead. Why is it so bad to let players have a little fun? I want to play as a Galmando with a PLC. However, this game can be shut down at any time, so what efforts I put into grinding for SP could be for nothing. |

There are other FOTM candidates out there besides heavies and scouts. Because you see plenty of heavies and scouts does not constitute a strong indicator that many players are already skilled into FOTM. That's obvious because you now want to skill into PLC because its the new cool thing now.
This game won't be down in a month. That's more than enough time to get the points needed to skill into what you need.
Also, the "I don't give a damn" part in my post is a strong indicator that I wouldn't mind people having their respecs. I don't want one though. I'll just grind it out as always, with or without a booster.

I've just finished speccing FotM. My SP total makes me unnerfable. No matter what CCP does I'll have another role to fall back on.
I would like a respec so's I can round some stuff out. It wouldn't make my suits better, and it wouldn't give me FotM.
I'm all for it.

You should have filled out your core skills first instead of skilling into the FoTMs.

i wouldnt mind the points back on my 5-2 flaylock,
but with a full respec i would just put the points back on the core and suits and other weapons just as they are now

They're going to stick with what they do because that's where their SP.
I admit that I would skill into things differently just to challenge myself. Right now, it's just too expensive and I no longer want to play enough to accomplish Proto Suits. I am just going to keep topping off passives and weapons.

All I know is the dropsuit respec that occurred just after 1.8 was one of the worst things to happen to scouts. It exacerbated all the issues arising from the patch, and prompted over reaction from both the community and CCP.
As a result, I am not a fan of respecs.

I certainly hope Legion allows us to respec on launch. I know that I have been living with CCP inability to get out a full racial line up of vehicles and had to skill accordingly.
