Hey, I've been overseas for a while, unable to play. I think I could benefit from y'all's experience when it comes to GalMando set-up, seeing as that's what I plan on running when I get home. I have NO idea how they play, and what I'm going to do with the 14 million some odd skill points I'll have accrued while gone.
What set-ups do you guys use? What do you recommend?
Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks. |

Plates, reps, assault rifles, max core skills, nanohives, get your ar skills as high as possible, plus proto commando for the bonus. Everything else is based on pref. I usually run 2 plates and a rep or 2 reps and a plate, a mid range rifle and whatever else I plan on doing as a secondary. They're a bit slow, with good tank, and with the ar changes old faithful will be your best friend.

Assault (Plasma) Rifle with a Shotgun. Armor Plates will attract helpful Logis. Damage Mods are the only useful High Slot Modules. Uplinks, Remote Explosives, Nanos, or Injectors (in that order of preference) in the Equipment Slot.

What about kin-cats? It's been months, so I forget whether they're high or low. I thought the Galmando was one of the faster base speed commando suits, so i was thinking about speeding him up a little, while adding maybe one rep and some complex plates, or two reps and the rest being complex plates.
If kin-cats are low slots, I don't know what I'd swap for them, but if they're high slots, I'd fit one and the rest damage mods.
Actually, while we're on the subject, can someone list for me the stats of Gally Commando suits, from standard to proto? I can't seem to find accurate, up to date stats for PG, CPU, speed, slot layout, stamina, stamina regeneration, shield and armor values, regens, etc. |

Yeah, I just found them. Lol Thanks man. The internet here is GOD awful slow, so it's taking some time, but I can at least get a theoretic idea of what I like best. Can I post some fits on here and have some of you generous souls test them out, see what's best in-game and with your play style?

Slot layout is: 0-2/1-2/1-3 All the rest you're on your own. Kin cats are low and the gcom is the slowest commando.

Damn. That would mean one complex damage mod, two reppers and a kin cat, two plates and a kin cat, one repper/plate and a kin cat, or no kin cats and just having all plates for a squad with two logis, or two reppers and a plate for solo work. |

I don't have much experience with the SR(none actually) but I do use a PLC/AR
STD Plasma Cannon Assault rifle Complex rep Basic plate or complex reactive Compact hive/K-17/quantem hive(you could also run a scanner, but that PLC eats ammo)
ADV Enhanced dmg mod(you could run a complex but you may have to cut back because this setup is very CPU intensive) ADV Plasma Cannon GEK Complex rep Enhanced plate Hive if your choice.
PRO Complex dmg mod Allotek Plasma Cannon Duvolle(or which ever other Proto rifle you like) Complex rep Complex reactive(or a 2nd complex rep, that's up to you) Enhanced or complex plate Hive with lots of ammo in the reserve.
Edit:A guy I know does well with Kincats, but I personally am not a fan of them this suit.

I wouldn't advise KinCatz, unless you're on a suicide mission. However, in pubs, almost anything is viable. It may be totally badass for a match or two, then totally suck for a week. They're a niche use item outside of Scouts. I have Sentinels with stacked KinCatz, but they're not my "Area Cleanse & Denial" fittings. They do have a purpose, but it's rare that I opt for them in a battle that I'd prefer to Win.

Yeah, my solo fits have kin cats and reps, or plate and reps, but there really are some good options....Just make sure and pack an ar with whatever else you choose lol

How viable are reactive plates, now that it looks like their CPU and PG fitting costs aren't akin to be raped in a rest stop on the side of a highway? Maybe we could cut a compromise between a damage mod or a shield extender in the high slot, with three reactives in the lows? |

Maybe we could cut a compromise between a damage mod or a shield extender in the high slot, with three reactives in the lows? Viable, but they still slow you down a tad. Reps got a good boost, so your better off with a single complex rep(it's 7.25 base irrc) and a enhanced plate(also, the plates got a speed nerf)
You could throw a shield extender if you like, but a damage mod will serve you better IMO.

I usually just eat the cost for a complex plate but I know they're different now...I haven't fitted them myself.

Personally I rep tank my commandos. Dual reps on all tiers - stick on a plate in the third low at proto. I use an enhanced light damage modifier in the high slot on both ADV and PRO as well.
There are a few weapon combinations that I see as worth using: Assault Rifle + Plasma Cannon Assault Rifle + Shotgun Assault Rifle + Tactical Assault Rifle
The shotgun may sound surprising given the slow, lumbering nature of the commando, but the damage amps on it will let it hit like a ton of bricks, so it can be very useful if you get jumped in extreme CQC. I sometimes use a breach and attempt to headshot heavies as well, although it rarely works.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I've been playing a lot with the pro to fitting tool, and i like it. I wish it had more modules, and i don't think that it's completely up to date, but it still gives me a good idea of what I can pay with. Commandos are very limited, as it turns out. Lol
So far, I'm liking a complex plate, a ferro plate and a complex repper, or two complex reppers and a complex plate for lows, a damage mod or shield extender in my high, and nanohives (probably triage, but they only have compact on the fitting tool), with a Duvolle assault and an ishukone sniper rifle. |

Most of the time I'll run a plasma cannon with a burst or regular assault rifle. I also had a lot of fun with two breach shotguns. |

I don't get why people only use Gallente weapons? I use combat rifles, scrambles, lasers, snipers, rails, mass drivers, swarms, anything I want to get the job done. The reload bonus in itself is enough to make all weapons work nicely.
