When people buy things, it appears in their redeeming system after relogging in. When people gift items (send items to another player) all appear in the redeeming system. I think this would be epic

Since our Character Assets & Data are stored on the Tranquility Server, wouldn't it possible to create an online interface (such as a website) to trade items with other characters?
I'd be a lot of work though. Eve doesnt allow this yet either despite trying to work towards this. Eve would be way more complicated because the assets and trading are balanced vrs region. Dust dust doesn't need to be nor should it be balanced that way. It should be one market.

Dust dust doesn't need to be nor should it be balanced that way. It should be one market. It still doesn't change the fact that this requires an advanced API system that not only allows you retrieve data but also modify it and transmit the data back. This was brought up before years ago possibly during Fanfest 2011 but that idea has yet to come to fruition. Like the one they have in the game?
In this case they wouldn't need that. They would retrieve data, prettify it server side, transmit the page to the end user who then clicks a button that tells the server that they would like to sell/buy an item. No data is modified on the client side. The server just receives a request to modify, and then goes through all the steps server side.
Edit - client side, not server side xD

The biggest challenge I see here is that traders could possibly write their own scripts to automate market purchases. Maybe a blind market like Runescape's Grand Exchange could be used here, making buy/sell orders but not able to actively monitor the market but showing the average market price of an item.

Not sure that would help anyway; someone would simply start grabbing average daily amount data per items, build their own market history over weeks/months and start gaming the market that way. Might be better to just have an NPC market with fixed prices we can sell items back to. But yaaaay! for market, would be great to get some version of one. It doesn't show volume, just price.
