I just finished off the last of it on a booster. Is anyone still buying aurum? Can anyone think of a valid argument to do so?
The only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing,
say nothing

CCP Rattati wrote:It is also a factor of low hanging fruits versus the "recook" issue. Basically, some content like textures requires a recook of assets, which leads to everyone needing to download the whole client again, sometimes partially but sometimes the whole X GB the client is.
We can do it, but there are many things I would like to tweak/fix before we bother the playerbase with a full client re-download.
If the content gets created, by either the DUST 514 or Legion team, we can push it out.
There's hope.

Personally I'm like 65% convinced to buy AUR again. Let's see how hotfix charlie pans out. |

Even if Dust got 1000x better tomorrow, I would not give them a cent.
I refuse to support a company that encouraged me to drop 1000 to come to FF for Dust 514, only to hear about a project not even green lit.

assuming these hot fixes continue and assuming rattati keeps improving the game not destroying it, then I'd likely be willing to buy some omegas when they start leeching us during SP events, of course I still have 16500 aurum saved for such occassions, as I no longer use boosters outside of said events.
but I would spend money if the game continues along it's current path at least until legion is confirmed I guess, but I shouldn't ever need to spend any money on this again. |

I've been tempted since I ran out a while back, but since I'm at 34mil SP I have little reason to buy boosters. It would be nice to buy some AUR gear for things I don't have at proto yet, but I'm just not ready to give CCP more of my money. Maybe when we know more about Legion and what will be taken across.
Even then depends if I can spare the cash for a PC, would be nice to use Steam again among other things. |

Remember that, the next time you decide to buy arum Remember that those guys work on Legion these days. If you want to you can go to the Legion subforum and write them a fanletter right now.
If however you want to show CCP that making good on your promises is what you want then giving money to CCP Rattati's Dust 514 isn't the worst option. Whether anyone at CCP besides Rattati commands the cognitive processes required to understand this relationship is a question I will not answer though. |

I actually bought some aurum a few weeks ago. I wont spend money for the sake of it because I am not rich, however I work and I do have some disposable income that I like to spend on things like computer games.
The fact CCP has made some great changes inspired me to buy some aurum again, after what must have been half a year or more since my last purchase. |

I have managed to avoid spending a dollar on this game since fanfest, just before the announcement I reached a little over $600. I am on the verge of buying more boosters thanks to Rattati convincing me that the game is not dead yet.
There are two things that would be guaranteed to get me to buy more Aurum, both of which are very far off at best so for now I remain torn. I will say this tho, I have not been able to try out bravo (and will not be able to for 5 more days) but it sounds as tho it may convince me to atleast buy a couple more months worth of boosters.
Laser focused in a room full of mirrors. Everything you ever wanted coming SoonGäó just keep buying boosters.

Join the discussion here, and if CCP Rattati decides 'yes', there will be tons of valid reasons to do so.

I buy a kebab because i like it, ultimately it will come out of my arse.
Theres no reason to ever need a kebab but we still buy and eat them.
Why is aurum any different?
We buy it, we get killed, its gone.
I buy a kebab, i eat it, i take a sht, its gone.
So ok i get a bit more out of the kebab but you can apply this logic to anything.
Theres nothing quite like spamming fulll proto at 9-28k isk a pop either.
How much of a waste buying aurum is, is relative to how much money you have. So whether its a waste or not is completely subjective.
Some people may eat a kebab just for that epic sht the day after, who knows lol.
I will spam your face with aurum proto.
