Refer to the "New record" thread that you asked in as well. I left tips.

Change your controls. I think that it may be prudent to adjust the sensitivity of your axes. Neocom> System Operation> Options> Controls. If you decrease the sensitivity, then it will probably be easier to aim carefully.
Maybe you would also like to change which control setup you use. I prefer praetorian, That way the zoom button is the same as the aiming stick. I also had to turn on vertical look inversion.
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Using Amarr assault (with skill at lv3 or higher) is a good way to learn since the skill bonus lets you fire more shots before overheating. Good for practice.

Use the left analog stick to aim and less of the right analog stick, the right stick is more so to get your reticule close to target, the left analog stick will allow you to aim while strafing and continuing to move; making you less vulnerable as a target
Moving and strafing back and forth to aim is a very effective method for me as I can either time my single shots to connect when my reticule passes my target or letting go of a charge shot as I time it by strafing back and forth and releasing when the reticule rests at the enemy's head

How can you find trouble aiming with the SCR of all weapons?
I think you need to turn AA back on lol.

Retired ScR master entering thread.
Look youngling, the ScR is semi automatic, there isn't really much you can do to get better but practice. The ScR is unforgiving, if you miss, the heat is still building up and it will overheat. If anything I'd say practice with the TAC AR first because if you miss it won't explode in your face. Once you're proficient with the TAC AR, try your hand with the ScR.

You could try it on a cheap/BP scout suit, the increased strafing may help you tailor your aim better.
Also, if you are using the 'normal' ScR, you can use the charge shot to melt fools at surprising ranges, just have a pistol/SMG on your hip to mop up with.

I used to suck with the ScR, so I just used the AScR. The gun felt great first but I was constantly beaten by CR and RR. Then I decide to move the ScR to my Logi fits to get a bit of practice. Well, when I used my Logi I was getting a whole lot more kills than my AScR. Turns out practicing with the AScR gave me better aim on the ScR. Weird, right?

If you're having trouble aiming generally, just remember: the right control stick ("camera") is for making large adjustments like getting the reticle in the general area of your target if it's 1/4+ way across the screen, and the left control stick ("move") is for fine tuning. In practice, this amounts to walking forward toward or backward away from your target to "aim" up and down, and strafing left/right to "aim" in those directions. How it all shakes out in-game depends on elevation, the level of your weapon, how your target itself is moving, etc. But that's it in a nutshell.
Some things I've noticed that are specific to the ScR:
- Assuming no prior heat buildup and no Amarr Assault bonus, you can empty half a clip (27 rounds) before it overheats. Even applying the -20% penalty against armor to each shot, this works out to be (.8 * 65 [basic ScR] * 27) = 1404 damage. With a little practice, it's not too hard to apply those 27 rounds in about 2 second, for a DPS of around 700 (this is about 60 less than the "implied dps", and in my experience is more accurate). I cannot overstate how bestial this is.
- The ScR is excellent in CQC and quite effective up to about 70 meters (though its max is 96 meters, second only to the RR).
- The overheat is not a big deal if you're doing it right, which is to say ganking your target. As long as you have at least 51 (methinks--feedback damage could be lower) armor left, and hopefully a little extra in case you take a hostile round to the back while trying to GTFO after it seizes, you're golden. However, assuming most of your shots hit, your enemy will either be dead or seeking cover to nurse their own wounds, unless they're an unnatural savage.
- Has a nice tendency to pull up a little as your fire, sorta like the HMG, so if you set your shots up right, headshot kills are easier.
- Has the coolest shooting SFX of any gun in the game. It literally goes "pew-pew, pew-pew-pew-pew".
- Choice of alpha or DPS.
- Can swap to an SMG right before overheat to finish off armor more effectively and prevent said overheat.

You have probably already thought of this, however try using lateral strafe movement to assist in your aiming. Its not always wise to try to directly aim. Sometimes aiming close and 'strafing' past the enemy is more effective. |

Run a shotgun. No I'm not kidding. At op 5, it is the hardest weapon to aim in the game, other than flay lock and PLC
This will, however, only increase your aiming at under 10 meters
