As we all know, there is one map in Dust that lags like hell. Here is how some merc abused the lag. (Top on enemy team) Screenshot of the Battle Report
Is the lag on this map ever going to get fixed? |

Yea the lagging is terrible. Other team starts losing and lag starts happening. Then the battlefield turns into a disco on my screen, with mercs dancing to the Bee Gees all over the map.
Now that would be a great video idea, Bee Gees "Staying Alive" for a Dust video.

All I see is your 2/8
That 76/3 has nothing on Arkena's 81/1 or whatever his kill game was.

What benefit does lag switching get you when the server has full authority of the gamestate i.e. where you lag no one but yourself out?
Furthermore, how do you exploit bad performance on certain maps that, by definition, affects everyone equally and what the hell does that have to do with the practice of lag switching?
Stop finding excuses for your terrible gameplay and git gud.

My 2/8 is from being logi, and from the damn lag.

Stop finding excuses for your terrible gameplay and git gud. I know basically for a fact that the lag doesn't affect everyone equally. I have been in multiple squads that have been able to fix their lag issues on the Gallente Research lab map, or whatever the heck it is called. |

We've cleared this up in closed ******* beta. Lag switching is not possible in Dust.

I've played against Ven a lot. Not a lag switcher, just a great player. Only way to beat him is by flanking.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Dust games are hosted on THEIR servers.
My understanding of lag switches are that they are effective when the games are hosted by the player with the switch.
If that is the case, then your point is invalid.

Desync, means you can hit people but they cant hit you or less chance to hit you

Stop finding excuses for your terrible gameplay and git gud. Desync, means you can hit people but they cant hit you or less chance to hit you The server doesn't care if your client simulation desyncs. It will not make any major concessions based on your client side simulation if it disagrees with its local gamestate. If something scrambles your connection then the server receives no input from you during that period and that's it.
It's you and you alone who gets forcefully resynced with your server side state upon reconnection while everyone else has had the valid server side state of you all along. Chances are, your server side state is "dead" at that point.

I keep hearing that it could work on servers, but I have no idea if it's true.
I also just read about something called "standbying" but have no idea what that is...
