So basically I'm having a bit of a dilemma with my Scout fit...
The problem I have is Heavies..and no Im not saying they're broken but I just need a new way to approach them. Basically when im Cloaked up I look at my surroundings and try to find stragglers, If its a light or Medium they're as good as dead even if its 2-3 Light/Medium I can take all of them down 80% of the time if I approach it right, but Heavies are a whole other world, Even if its just 1 single heavy I have to be cautious, It takes on average 3 shots to kill a heavy, 4 for a Beefy Proto(Whom are pretty much Garentee'd to kill me), They can React in 2 Shots, I have not really found a reliable way to get that 3rd shot off. Im currently running the CRG-3 Shotty.
TL;DR: I can 1 Shot Light/Medium Frames, but 3 Shot Heavies, I can get 2 Shots off before they React, How do you approach a Heavy? |

I'm usually able to kill a heavy with remote explosives, but not with firearms.
This game makes me suicidal.

Man, I got destroyed in my full proto today by a shotgunner with a CRG in advanced suit. He just danced around me and kept shooting me.
This is exactly why turning speed should NOT BE CHANGED.
Heavy turning speed should NOT be changed, we already get slaughtered by basic/adv scouts in our proto, dancing round us

IMO, heavies are easiest to deal with using a little range and dance. ScR works like a charm most of the time. |

I don't use cloaks, just Uplinks and explosives. To me, the cloak is a novelty item.

What sidearm are you running? I recommend one that makes up for the cons of a shotgun, like the Bolt pistol or Magsec.
Some of the more difficult to tackle (w/ a shotgun) heavies can be harassed at range until they die. And if you are indeed engaging a straggler, you have a larger opportunity window.
If sidearms are not your thing, try hit and run with the shotgun. Land a one (maybe two) shots, and get out. Stalk the heavy, and repeat.
Of course, try REs as well.

Are you using fluxes?
Taking out their shields with a flux is a great way to do a lot of damage while having your shotty out and moving in quickly before they get more time to react.

I use the ScR in my scout. I avoid heavies all the time unless I am 40+ meters from them.
If you have issues with proto heavies, it might be time to start avoiding them.
Also, you already admitted you can kill everything except proto heavies with ease (cough, cloaked shotgunners r OP, cough). If you didn't have issue with a proto heavy that would mean you could easily kill every frame in the game and that would be very unbalanced.

I actually have found that Scrambler Pistols and REs work best.
Headshots only on the ScP maybe try a CAR-9 if you are patient and skilled enough.

1-2 hits with shotgun and an re trap on your escape route A single shotty blast, figure out which way they're turning to hit you n keep moving away from it Above strategy n jump over them instead of strafing

As a heavy that scouts that get me far more than any are the guys that set traps, but i DO NOT mean REs. The best scouts I have seen use the maps to their advantage. They will sit at a corner waiting for me to see them and then quickly circle back behind me knowing I have not made it to the corner yet, primarily due to the fact I am moving up very slowly to watch for remotes.
If you learn the maps you can wait on a heavy to move into the area, such as sitting around a corner and then coming up behind them as soon as they pass through a door so that you not only snuck up on them but also have an escape route. If that is too boring for you there are many ways to bait heavies in.
Your best bet is to run with atleast one other scout and use each other to provide distraction.
This is from my perspective as a heavy and knowing what kills me most. I am sure alot of the scout guys will have a very different take on what works for them.

Never did like shotties... Too much risk... But constant hit and runs should work if the heavy is truly alone and not using a squad mate's sensor. Just don't get greedy, do one shut and run, repeat as needed. Heavy Regen rates are terrible.

TL;DR: I can 1 Shot Light/Medium Frames, but 3 Shot Heavies, I can get 2 Shots off before they React, How do you approach a Heavy? here's how i do it and i only use a dren shotgun and suit. i sneak up on the heavy and get my first 2 shots off. right after i get that 2nd shot off, i jump passed the heavy on the left or right side. as I'm flying through the air, i try my best to land that 3rd shot in mid-air. after that, i use the heavies slow rotation speed against them. i just run circles around them as i get that 4th or 5th shot off, depending on if i land that 3rd shot in mid-air. it takes some practice to get used to it as a reflex and its the best way i know of to go 1 v 1 against a heavy and win. RE's and flux grenades work too. also, with those first 2 shots, aim for the head.

When you attack a heavy, don't do it in the open, middle of a road, open field anything like that and your chance of living decreases because YOU have no cover.
The trick is to have many passages so you can circle him, you want his back, flux, smg works well if you gotta range him, even if you sg him to drop his shields then circle around cloaked because he's gonna head in the direction he got shot from so it's wise to plant a remote, walk up and shoot then double back past that remote while you circle a structure, box w/e to use two tactics at the same time , his shields are down, he's walking to the remote, your flanking to sg him, then you plant another remote from where he just came from.
Now he's pinned between two remotes, now you be patient and either go for the kill or force him out by using a smg from range, he will follow as long as the remotes are placed before you make the first attack and he can't see you plant the second from your flank you ll get him everytime.
People that choose heavies choose them because it's a easy and quick killer, not saying heavy is easy but a hmg is a hard weapon to counter, so they get clostraphobic fast because they know their sitting ducks when there's too many angles to be attacked from.
I suggest get a minmatar lp store hmg use it on a militia heavy and figure out where in maps you feel safe and where your parinoid and thats how you kno where and when to attack them.
