Where the enemy team uses a dropship to deploy uplinks and defend the objective or kill the enemy team in ambush.Basically most maps player would drop an uplink and teammates deploy.Have to spend an entire battle trying to find the dude who gets off and hacks and find a team member only.Cause thats all he can do in a boring match. Most in the Dom match where the objective by the rail edge.
Feel the pain of my knives and the piercing pain your skull has felt to my pistol.I am the Assassin.

No. Notsure what your actual problem is? Your inability to clear the roofs/higher ground?
Three lefts don't make a right.
Unless you're two dimensional and only know right angles.

The plus side?
They can stay up there and if the team is smart, they will hack the objective and keep them on the roof. Then they have to activate those inertia dampeners. Which is just fine for a merc just sitting there waiting on them to drop for an easy kill
Also, I can practice my sniping skills. In which I see the possibility of KBM, when I switch over to it and use the precise controls to take them out from undisclosed locations
Or if I'm in a squad, we work harder to get the warbarge strike. If not in a squad and doing a solo squad run, I will jump into a squad with an empty slot and help them in gaining WPs for the warbarge strike.
I laugh everytime when players get to the top of the roof as if that's tactical when the objective is down below. The only players I knew that were a threat on top of the roofs, left this game a long time ago.

I used to think flying dropships onto roofs was just a stupid exploit that shouldn't happen.
Then I realized that's what dropships are for.
Also, the maps need to be changed/removed. I hate the one with the giant tower in the middle with two giant pipes coming out each end (Dom only), I think I'm forgetting another one, and a couple other "variants" of maps where certain structures are useless and/or in the way.
My thoughts on Hotfix Alpha: First I noticed a scout running from my AR. Then a heavy. Then a COMBAT RIFLE USER. CCP +1

Viable tactic, as cheap as it is. The truth is if it is frustrating your team, it is fulfilling its intended role. Being able to take your head out of the game is step #1.
I personally don't care for exploiting it. I like my feet at ground level anyway.

Um, git gud? Taking the high ground is like the oldest military tactic in existence for a good reason. It works.
I consider it a good time for sniping practice. Plus, you pretty much know where they are coming from... camp their landing spots. Also makes for sweet 10 kill orbitals.

Quitting cold turkey was impossible. The forum patch is helping me kick the habit

Get out your MLT FG fitting, back up, and blast those pretty little sitting ducks.
OR
Beat them to it. Know your maps, know the "good" spots, buy 20 MLT Dropships, build a Logi with Uplinks, maybe some Nanos, and own the Win.

when sniping was heavies would never have tried to camp towers like they do nowadays.
meh, i don't have a problem with it but one of the most useful things a sniper would do back in the day was prevent high ground tactics.
now that ti takes them 5+ shots with head shots to kill a heavy it doesn't quite work. |

They're just driving up their K/D(r). Don't worry, they'll get matched with tougher and tougher opposition until they're the victims.
Because...
K/D(r) WP/D(r) matchmaking fixes the whole game. Period.

I hate it when someone on my team leaves uplinks on roofs as that guarantees that every damn BB on my team can be found there.
I have never proto stomped but now that DUST 514 is dead I can do it without remorse!! 355 million ISK to go.

People need to learn to use the high ground to their advantage and take enemies off of it. Working as intended.
My only peeve is that I think more roof spots need ladders and such.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

It never worked as a viable counter. There were only a few really good snipers who could keep rooftops clear. Everyone else was just wasting ammo.
Back in Chromo if you had a logi with you it would take two headshots to pop a heavy who was being repped.
Since then rep tools got the core focused, and heavies got their resists and more HP.
A heavy on a rooftop is bullt sponge for any Sniper stupid enough to waste ammo. Heck I used to have a fit with a link, and three proto hives, then you commit suicide and bring in a G heavy with a proto forge and go to town.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

Also, you can destroy the uplinks with a sniper rifle, forge gun, or (if you're really accurate) MDs and lobbed fluxes
