Honestly, my best idea is to make proto the only regular fit available, and turn advanced into militia. This way, it isn't so much the gear you run, but how you fit your suit and what skills you have. I don't think this would require a client update. So is tiericide still on the board for a hotfix?

Personally I am getting to the point where I suggest we literally rip EVE's skill system and hull system off in Legion.
You have Sized Frames with Role and Frame Bonuses uniquely tied to the suit itself and affected by X Racial Suit Operation as your T1's, and Racial Role Suits affected by Frame Operation and X Racial Role Suit Operation.
No need for STD, ADV, and PRO when all that separates suits is mild variations of base statistics and bonuses.
Same can be applied to Vehicles.

Variations of T2 suit types can exist.
E.g-
Amarr Medium Frame
Amarr Assault 2% to Laser Damage, 2% to Movement Speed
Amarr Electronic Attack 2% to Remote Hacking Disruptors, 2% to Laser Damage
Amarr Grenadier 10% to Grenade Capacity, 2% to Movement Speed
Amarr Logistics +50% to Remote Armour Repair Tool Range, 2% to Armour HP
Amarr Engineer +3% efficiency to Drop Uplink Usage, +2% to Armour HP

I'm in favor of removing 'Duvolle' Assault rifle and going Assault rifle.
Saying we Tiericided Loght weapons:
Militia Assault rifle- 48 clip, does less dps Than the basic.
Assault Rifle- current Prototype
'Stabilized' Assault Rifle- lower Dmg by 10%, increase range 15%
'Scattered' assault rifle- increase hipfirespread by 25%, increase Dmg by 10%, decrease RoF and range by 10% each.
'Compressed' assault rifle- Dmg increased by 15%, optimal stays same, effective decreases by 10%, RoF decreases by 5%.
Ten you get your T2 specializations: Tactical Assault Rifle- 91 damage, has +10-15 meters optimal, hardcap RoF to 300.
Burst Assault Rifle- 40 dmg, 5 shot burst, slightly more rangr than Base(4-5 metrrs)
Breach Assault Rifle- loses 5% Dps, attained through 25% Dmg buff, 20% RoF nerf, recieves 8-10m range buff.
Then T3: These would be hyper customizable, super gain variants of T1 weapons.
Example- 'Lynn's Gar-21 Assault Rifle' 56 Dmg per shot 900 RoF 18 clip 3 shot burst 15m expanded range -25% reload speed
This would be a super high Dps variant, relying on spewing bullets as fast as possible, then retreating to reload. The general idea is completely circumventing the role of the weapon, and instead just massively specializing, losing severely in 1 area to gain in 5.
Then you have your Officer variants: Balac's Gar-21 Assault Rifle +15% dmg, +20% clipsize, +20% RoF -10% range, +15% hipfire spread. Te officers go more into just being a better variant of T2/3, but in exchange being super difficult to obtain.

I was thinking that advanced becomes militia, and proto becomes standard, at least as far as suits go. This is what tiericide was in Eve. Instead of ships getting better, they now all just do a different job.

Chaser - Minmatar Strike Suit - This lightweight frame emphasizes presence, speed, and relentless pursuit of the enemy. 5% Biotic Module Efficiency Per Level. 5% Sensors Module Efficiency Per Level. Role Bonus: Reduction in Cloak Fitting
Current Light/Scout Prototype Layout
Harasser - Minmatar Attack Suit - This middleweight frame emphasizes balanced approach to their enemies bringing good mix of defense & offense. 5% Projectile Weapon Damage Per Level. 5% Shield Regulator Charge Bonus and -5% Shield Regulator Penalty Per Level. Role Bonus: Reduction in Weapon Fitting Current Proto Assault/Medium

Similar to Scout fitting currently offering added high slot without expanded fitting.

Grudge - Minmatar Black Ops - Candescent operations is the name of the game for this infiltrator going causing havok and looking for weak points in enemy lines to be exploited
Tech 1 Bonus : 5% Bonus to Suit Sensor Falloff Range Per Level Tech 1 Bonus : 5% Bonus to Projectile Sidearms and Knives Damage Per Level
Tech 2 Bonus : 5% Bonus to Active and Passive Scanner strength per level. Tech 2 Bonus : 5% Cloak Duration per level.
Similar to current prototype scout offers a third equipment slot without expanded fittings.
