Two enh damage plus stacking penalty kinda makes me wonder why your not saving a slot and just using a complex.

I made the fit considering he may not have oodles of isk, so I did a full advanced gear only fit.

Yes, I'm tempted to just spec combat rifles and use them on my Amarr assault (because CPU/PG reduction bonus and all my armor is maxed while I only got shield and extenders maxed) and to get more CPU/PG for my modules, but I refuse to spec into the FOTM for the reason of it being easier to fit (and better killing power than a laser rifle).
Edit: either way, I'm going to have to go through with this trade-off and hope that when they look at the mediums, they give the Amarr assault more CPU/PG.
As a laser weaponry user (SCR) I have no fitting problems on my Amarr assault. At all. I can fit mostly proto modules on it. A minor downgrade in one and I'd be able to put another enhanced plate on - a huge buff.
If I had maxed skills I could literally fit full proto.
It'd be kind of cool, but also obscene.
