i need with some thoughts ive been having. theyre mainly about the four races and how they could be made to make a little more sense in terms of following their eve online racial characteristics. some if these may need threads of their own. but ill start with this.
Amarr are armor tankers. straight up. In eve, they generally have more eHP than the other races by a sizeable margin. they have thick armor and their weapon hit hard with good range. generally speaking, they are above average in power yet still balanced in terms of offense and defense. disregarding speed, the amarr are the slowest race.
in dust, i would change their slot layout to always have the most low slots compared to the other races. this enforces their belief in armor tanking. currently, the gallene have more low slots than amarr in some cases.
Amarr suits:
the new proposed amarr medium layout is the same as the gallente. this is a step from their dual tank role towards armor tanking, but it didnt go far enough. their new 3H/4L shouldve been 1H/5L. the reason is so they can max out their buffer tank. id either go with a 1H/5L layout or increase their base armor hp another 100hp since they dont get gallente armor reps to help them between fights
all amarr suits should have more low slots then gallente suits
Dropsuit scan precision, profile, and radius:
the fact that all suits have the same stats here tells me something is wrong. theres no racial difference between them.
caldari should have the highest scan range and precision, but also the largest scan profile (they need the scan range and precision to work with their long range weaponry)
amarr would have second average range with a scan precision better than caldari and a scan profile smaller than caldari (the amarr better at shorter ranges than caldari, better at longer ranges than minmatar or gallente)
gallente would have the third highest scan range, higher precision than amarr and caldari, with a smaller profile than amarr and caldari (higher precision helps them spot close range targets faster, which increases close range close combat effectiveness)
minmatar would have the lowest scan range, worst precision, but smallest profile (they need the smaller profile to compensate for their low hp. works well with their hit and run style as well)
as you can see, gallente would be most effective at close range, able to easily pick up a majority of targets on their shorter ranged scanners. at longer ranges, an active scanner would be neceessary.
caldari favor the dreaded camping playstyle. theyre too slow to go anywhere and at a severe disadvantage when caught without cover at close range. their scan precision would need to be good enough that they can detect any amarr, caldari or gallente (heavy and medium) suit in range, but require the use of basic precision mods to pick up undampened gallente light suits. minmatar medium and heavy suits would require complex precision mods while minmatar light suits would be undetectable without an active scanner. this lets caldari fight from long range range with ease and make use of open areas with limited cover.
the minmatar NEED low scan profiles. their hit and run style demands this. they have the lowest hp and they cant regen their shields or armor as quickly as the caldari or gallente. they need natural stealth to be competitive. poor scan precision keeps them from competing against gallente in close combat, while able to assassinate amarr and caldari using their stealth.

Agreed. Maybe a bit much to conceptualize from words alone though. If you ever want this to be considered seriously by CCP you'll probs need a spreadsheet with current and proposed changes.

Sounds pretty good.
But only if they decrease the time your red chevron shows after being seen by a dramatic %.
Being blind and seen is bad (for Min).
And i assume these changes will aid logistics as well...

needs a TLDR but i think they are sort of getting there as... caldari have less hp but slightly more speed and faster rechargeing shields more for hit and run. Amarr is flat out EHP galante get wicking mean armor tanks but to compensate are slwoer and can endure the meatgrinder easier minmatar.. sort of like hybrid tanking.. armor buffer and shields which recharge fast aswell as fast movment speed
