I usually run Cal scout the reason for this is that the battlefield is now covered in scouts before the cloaks and the nerfing of the scrambler rife i use to be a Cal assault and after the week of nerfing and cloaks i ran my assault suit for a while till i got tired of the scouts i have stop ruining my assault suit since then i also feel that the assault suit is not even worth it any more

This is one reason I think an assault buff would have been a better alpha than a scout nerf. Assaults need to be a viable alternative, and not all of that is because of OP scout mechanics.

The only Caldari suit worth having is an assault IMO, and even then I feel they aren't that great because shields got such a nerf that they hardly do anything. Couple that with almost no armor and you have a suit that can barely survive in combat.

I ran Cal assault for a long time before i started being a logi. They're somewhat of a rarity these days... even amongst assaults.

Say that when you try doing 95% of anything in a Minmatar.
The heavies have 50% less regen, 300% worse timers, and .5 or so faster movement.
You have more shield, better resisst, and better timers.

Sad, scouts & heavies are still out-assaulting assault suits. Pulled the cal assault out yesterday & it underperformed against my mlt min heavy fit.

Which makes no sense.
Caldari should have a ton of shields but the best shield regeneration should go to the Minmitar.
So good that they really wouldn't have to use a Regulator or energizer to recharge.
Think of the Caldari as the Amarr but for shields
Then Minmitar as Gallente.
Sure both of them have less hp from their counterpart but similar values apply.

I was also a passionate assault player, i even re invested the SP to my lvl 5 after the respec, but i haven't been able to use it except when it's a very easy match, just to fool around and to feel some variety.
I actually think that my Gallente assault has a great bonus, i like it. But a scout will always be better. I can't imagine any bonus that will give the assault class a real advantage. |

I still adore my minmatar assault, unless the reds are being super daft - staying together in a lump facing the same direction and then its time for Jin the Megadamped and his Sticky Bombs of Hilarity to dust off his galscout gear.
It would be pretty sweet if my assault suit gets a buff, seeing as it doesnt need one! (in my most humble of opinions of course)

I gave up my Caldari ways in favor of the Amarr. It used to be Gallente until their logi got a bonus I couldn't use. I tried being Caldari logistics and I got murdered. I wouldn't even get my needle out and I was dead.
Minmitar still lives longer IMO. Armor is better than shields by a long shot. I run a Minmitar Assy and I can live through a hail storm of bullets compared to a Caldari. I don't see why you're complaining about Minmitar shielding capabilities when Caldari is going to be better because they're a shield driven race. Minmitar uses rust, carpet, and a little bit of hot glue and they still live longer.

I still love my CalAss suit (insert heart here) . I still run it on a regular basis...personally I cant wait for the shield regulator and recharger buff its gonna make my suit even more badass since I actually use regs and recharger on my suit. That reload bonus is actually pretty good..still rather have something else since I was already skilled into reload ....but now I have super duper reload powers.
That shield reg/recharger buff is gonna make my CalHeavy disgusting though

More like every assault is a placebo in this game; the scout buffs make it impossible to nerf it again with massive equipment balancing issues and upgrading it can end up making it on par with a heavy. There's just no friggin sense in this game with how assaults and logis fit in with the overall mix. |
