I'm scared that when the game becomes properly balanced, that we would only be able to enjoy it for a week or so before it is shut down.
I'm going to start buying Aurum now... Maybe my efforts would be enough to make the game last a couple more days, and despite what many of you have to say, Dust is actually a good game. |

When the game is properly balanced, we won't know it anyhow.
The community always has tunnel vision: they only notice one or 2 play styles at a time.
Codex was a prime example of this: dropships were OP as hell, viziam laser rifles had a broken damage stat (10 higher than intended), and tactical assault rifles could be exploited by modded controllers. However, the community only noticed 1 issue at a time. Once one was fixed, the next issue was noticed. There were never really instances of the 3 broken play styles fighting each-other, so we never knew if one could counter another (although I believe there was one report of a viziam killing 2 dropship gunners in a single sweep)

The Rail and Combat Rifles did end up countering each-other, as well as the ADSs and HAVs (well, after the 80GJ Railgun range nerf anyways).

Were you in Codex? 1.7 is extremely balanced in comparison. While everything you listed had somewhat of an edge, it wasn't nearly as bad as viziams insta-melting everything, and almost untouchable dropships OHKing everyone they shot at while evading a cloud of AV fire.
