The other day i made this post . Thanks Godin and Monkey for replying. Let me clarify what i am saying. Dust 514 looks at the cloak as being an active camouflage bending light spectrum just as Monkey said, thi video shows a different type of active cam. What im saying is that they can be 2 completely different things for 2 different roles. Cloak built into Scouts suits with a MGS 4 style active camo built into Assault suits. All it takes is a few lines of code.
I also had to realize that my definition of "Built-in" is incorrect and needs to be explained:
"built-in" means integrated. i'm not referring to an equipment slot with a rep tool in it and the slot is greyed out so that the piece of equipment cant removable, when i say built-in or integrated, i mean that the suit IS the rep tool. Instead of it being a module in a slot, the Minmatar built a rep beam into the suit. Whether you want it to come out of his hands, chest, or d*** the SUIT is the rep tool (level of repping based on level of the suit proto can heal 2 at once). Remember when we had logi lav's and logi dropships that automatically had rep beams in them? Caladari can have integrated nanite injectors while Gallente would have integrated scanner because once again, the SUIT is the scanner, not a module. If the logi doesn't like the repper, nanite, or scanner, they can still go equip one into a slot. This doesnt require tweaking stats because all the stats where built around this suit being a walking tool. Also notice that all of these items are already infinite use items
With this, the Amarr logi would become one of the most critical assets on the battlefield. Because the Amarr speacialize in drop uplinks, an Amarr logi would become a walking drop uplink capable of having his team spawn directly in on his location. The SUIT, ITSELF, would be a mobile cru (and yes mr. logi i do feel you should get points for those spawns). This would make for some very tactical and strategic spawning. In a nutshell
1. Make cloak and active camo 2 different things 2. Give Scouts integrated cloak, Assaulters integrated Active camo, and Logi's integrated racial equipment
CCP ain't solely responisble for killing Dust....the assholes who exploit the mechanics of the game did their part also.

Agree, especially on the cloak.the camo should cost less cpu and pg.Basically cause the other cloak is better.Would rather have camo cloak like in Predator.

This makes 0 sense. Again, as I've said, You can't just give something to a suit without having drawbacks (aka a slot removed). It doesn't work like that. Even the LLV and the LDS had slots removed. And as I said, built in anything shouldn't happen. I should be able to fit anything how I want to within the realm of reason, not how someone else says it should be fitted (battle badger).
Also that Amarr Logi would become beyond OP.

Cloaks, or "active camo" are garbage.
Made a subpar beta into an even worse game. |

If you don't stand out in the open like a idiot, it actually does work. It's not supposed to be complete invisibility. And no, it's worse. With the cloaks, you have close to the exact same background. With the active camo? not even close. It's very easy to spot people with it. It's simply worse technology. Cloaks are pretty much superior to them in every way.

Good to see you understamd the difference now. However yes I agree with you fornthe most part, building things to the suits are a bad idea.
It also reduces customization.
Looks like its back to FPS Military Shooter 56

Although the amarr logi example could be useful.... a squad leader suit with squad spawns maybe?

No. If you want a mobile spawn point, use a vehicle.

Metal Gear Solid 4 camouflage would be completely ineffective in DUST as it is today, and likely EVE: Legion as it would be tomorrow. -1

Once they fix vehicle spawns, yes. Right now you can't spawn on them until you bleed out.

I like to hear from some logi's bout this. Have integrates means logi's can clear some of their suits out of the fitting cuz their money maker is built in. And in the end....all of this is matter of opinion cuz I bet i can make active camo work for me considering a white assault suit is more difficult to see on the snow maps. If my active camo can change to the grey of a building or sand of a desert map I would b harder to see. I dont need to b invisible or dam near invisible. Yrs, it is better I do admit, but I just need to be a lil more difficult to see. As I said, im not trying to build something game breaking, just a less pg/cpu camo option. But f*** all that....how do logi's feel bout their money maker with them at all timea instead of sacraficing it for a different peice of equipment for a different situation. Btw if ccp did it.....theres nothin any of us could do about it......... And someone tell ccp that we need the ability to go prone in legion
