It's so annoying trying to charge knife someone trying to walk behind a sprinting enemy. STD- can sprint for 5 seconds with 5 second sprint recharge... This means that you charge knives, you sprint and they will stay charged for 5 seconds than they will become uncharged after 5 seconds are over while you are still sprinting.... ADV- 12 second sprint, 5 second recharge... PRO- 20 second sprint, 5 second recharge... You know knives are bad when you see multiple Minmitar scouts with SMG's instead of knives... Also, ever since ALPHA Hotfix, Knives have become worse, going for a side knives doesn't work well anymore. I often find myself missing the second slicing part so I only do 50% damage.

There are other reasons as to why one would run nova knives or a different sidearm on a min scout. I'm sure as hell not going to pack nova knives when I've got a shotgun or a plasma cannon, but I'm more than happy to carry them when I've got a CR or a ScR Hnolai ki tuul, ti sei oni a tiu. Are you aware of the jump charge? It takes some learning, and probably can't be done with the charge time of std knives, but adv and proto shouldn't be a problem. The REAL Internet King

No fine increase walk/sprint speed when wielding nova knives for all suits. Proto knives - 15% ADV- 8% SRD-5%
