So I was playing skirmish and the enemy team decided to put up links on the roof of a building and many players were spawning from there with long ranged weaponry, so I got a tank out to pin down all the enemies coming from the roof for a little while. They got their anti vehicle gear out and were assaulting my tank though I managed to survive some more. They got to me after a bit and lowered my armour down, making my shield almost my only defense. It wouldn't tank much to kill my tank, the worst part was after I annoyed them all they got a tank out too so I decided if my tank is going to die I shouldn't waste a tank doing nothing and I jihad drove my tank right onto the enemy tank, spending maybe 10 seconds surfing the enemy tank until I was shaken off and killed. After that I decided to surf more tanks with other tanks or by myself doing nothing productive but annoying tank drivers and distracting them from AV teams.
If I can't kill an enemy, I'll just use my heaps of dead clones!

Normally, I try to ram and flip the enemy HAV, rather than sitting on top of it.

Well then... I'm unlucky because I will either drive on top of a tank or my vehicle will use it as a ramp regardless what I do.
If I can't kill an enemy, I'll just use my heaps of dead clones!

surfing tanks is actually a very valid tactic when 1v1 cqc fighting tanks..i use it often.
rail tanks in particular are vulnerable to being surfed due to the difference in shape between the cal tanks and gal tanks..the gal having a more wedge like shape and the cal being more boxlike..the gallente tank can also aim further up and down..than the gunlogi also the length of the rail turret allows it to be broken when surfing easily if your in the right position even head on they can hit you.
with gunlogi shield mods being shorter burst than maddies..surfing is a great way to wait out they're timers and shred them.also shield tanks dont use active propulsion they're accel is passive where as the armor tanks have nitro and burst speed without loss of tank..this allows them to tackle and break tackle much better than gunlogi when combined with the difference in shape.
the cal is at a disadvantage compared to the gal in cqc because of this.
of course very little supersedes the element of surprise ..but i have had many a unwary cal tank get the drop on me in tight quarters and lose because of these differences only |

While I know of this the main reason I don't tank surf because I'm not too good with staying on them.
If I can't kill an enemy, I'll just use my heaps of dead clones!
