With the recent nerf to profile dampening (gal scout+cloak nerf) and the addition to get tons of reps im feeling that the gal. logi will make a return. The active scanner from that suit is now extremely hard to counter. Some might say that the cooldown time for scanners is too long but you could allways use the Creodron-proximity-scanner (proto). With max skills the stats are:
-range= 60 meters (scouts usualy operation range) -precision= 21db -visibility duration= 15 secs -cooldown= 10 secs
yes you can still spam that scanner when you are paranoid and think that scouts are inside a building cloaked. So scouts have it extremely hard to hide from a gal. logi and he gets tons of reps which are even more then back in the days where logis where popular. With just 2 complex reppers you get 20.75HP/s and still have room to get over 600Hp on armor and then you can still get shield extenders. |

What's the arc on the proximity scanner?
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Prox scanner is a joke compared to passive scans.
The angle is 45 degrees. To put that in perspective, the normal scanner is 60 degrees and barely scans anything that's not immediately in front of you. Plus, at 100 meters out the scan "width" is larger than a 45 degree scan at 60 meters out.
The only useful scanner right now is the proto flux. 200 meter range, 90 degree angle, 8 seconds of scan results. Sure you have a 30 second cooldown, but no other scanner is able to scan a HUGE area like it can. Even if you can scan 3 times in the time it takes the flux to recharge, you're only going to be able to scan a fraction of the space/area that even a normal scanner could...much less the proto flux. ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Even if you had 3 scanners on your suit, you could only ever see scans in one direction at a time. Each time you place a new scan, the old scan results are lost...so you'd always be blind in one direction.
And with all that time you spend with your scanner out, you wouldn't be very mobile (scanning prevents sprinting), and you can't be invisible...even if you had a cloak.
Scouts still do it better, but if anything I'd be more worried about regen heavies...Gallente sentinels can get up to almost 40/s, and my Amarr is looking nice with 750 armor and 30/s
Maybe they can't see you, but they can sure recover much faster.
I'm most likely going to be using dual complex reps on my logi though. Recovery is mandatory for logistics.

In my opinion the game was more fun when there were more logis.

I don't know about you guys but I'm really excited about my new dual-tanked Amarr Logi; stacked extenders, and 2x plates/2x rep. Seems to be working out so far.
