Why not divide the suit and the bonus?
I believe that the bonus is more vital than the suit itself, with logi for example you get that 25% bonus on equipment cost, that help you to fit better equipments, no matter if you use STD or PRO suit.
For example, i want to skill minmatar logi.
Now i have to spend 2.4 million SP to skill it to level 5.
Why not divide the skill in 2 skills to spend 1.2 million for each skill?
In this way, if you wish to play a role you can access the role more easily if you skill the bonus, even if you make the same SP investment.

Or we could lock bonuses into the suits themselves to incentivize skilling into basic frames and increasing suit variety
Example:
Caldari Basic Medium Frame Type A:
-Caldari Medium Frame Operation Skill +5 to Hybrid rail weaponry effective range per lvl
Caldari Basic Medium Frame Type B:
-Caldari Medium Frame Operation Skill +4 to base shield health per lvl
Or for specializations
Caldari Logistics Frame:
-Caldari Medium Frame Operation Skill 5% reduction to equipment Cost per lvl,
-Caldari Logistics Operation Skill 5% to nanohive duration/repair rate per lvl

i like that idea.. means it has use for getting the basic skill up too.
