It's also not as difficult as you suggest to hit infantry with a FG; I manage it reasonably frequently, and I know a guy who is pretty terrifying that way. He used to not carry a sidearm, in fact.

I also recall a Lancer gun in ratchet and clank, similar to an HMG, but it's rifle shaped.

Forge shots are quite difficult to pull off in CQ, unless the guy's sitting still.

I am rightly peeved that CCP couldn't even achieved racial parity before they announced Legion....and it bloody well appears they have given up on being able to say they released a completed first product.
