Yes and partial yes.
I think it should be a viable strategy to disable a null cannon through excessive brute force damage. They should always be repairable though, unless CCP decides that doing manual damage to an MCC is a thing again.
Having more routes to victory would definitely help to set the game apart from being a battlefield clone. |

You have no basis whatsoever to say battles would go on forever...
For one thing, the actual damage that null cannons do could be altered to accommodate a new strategic feature like this. For another, it might not even be necessary.
The problem with pubs right now is that people hack one point, then run to the next while the enemy swoops in behind them to take the point and the sheep keep chasing each other in circles around the map generally being stupid. Bad players need gameplay mechanics that funnel them into doing the right thing as much as possible. If that means spending more time at the point they just captured to repair and defend it, great.
I also don't buy into the idea that the majority of null cannons would always be destroyed, thus stalling the match. Tank superiority would likely be required to make that happen, and only one side at a time ever has tank superiority due to how fast tanks kill each other and how long they take to call back in.
The only scenario I could see being an issue would be if all points are captured by one side, but the other team is actually far superior and has simply destroyed all null cannons out of spite and is griefing them at the red line indefinitely. That is one possible scenario I will admit to and I'm sure there's a way around it. |

Or deployable. But limit the number on the field at any given time. Destroy one, drop another where you choose.

Destructible buildings would be great, but they should pair it with the ability to build whatever you want too. Preferably the maps should be the size of DayZ's map, or bigger, and we should be able to build what we want where we want, and blow up what we want when we want. No districts, red-lines or any of that other lobby-shooter crap.
I want to be able to spend a couple of hours on a hilltop, two kilometers out from your base, studying your defenses. And then sneak up to a weak point under a cloak and activate a beacon so my Heavies have something to aim at when they drop from orbit. |

how about making it so that certen materials can be destroyed? like concrete (or whatever the alternate is in eve is) and wood (trees) can be destroyed but things like metal and energy structures cant.

Related: [Suggestion] Destructible Doors
Destructible buildings would be good of course, but if there are any issues with that, they should at least have Destructible Doors.

Dr Dammit wrote: No districts, red-lines or any of that other lobby-shooter crap. Well, they sort of have to have districts or something like that. WOW uses GÇ£ZonesGÇ¥. They canGÇÖt have the whole planet as one instance. The maps they made for DUST (if you remove the red line) were about 5 km by 5 km I believe. I know three of the DUST match map were on the same larger map, and there was a lot more space beyond that.
As for Red Lines, I would prefer to see shield bubbles for staging areas instead of those arbitrary Red Lines. Make them destructible, but not easily, so that taking out the shield on an enemy staging area would only be something you would attempt in PC, because you would not have time to do it during a PUB match.
