With the arrival of Legion we have an opportunity to make PC a much more expansive and complex gamemode. This thread will be the first in a series detailing people's thought for how to improve PC.
Right now OB's while a celebrated feature two years ago, are still incredibly limited. They give Eve players only one way to interact with the boots on the ground and only involve one class of ship. To improve the link between Eve and Legion there will need to be more varied types of Eve support.
1. Tiers of OB: Right now there is only one type of OB. You can get better OB's by selecting better turrets, and while this should stay true for Legion there needs to be greater rewards for flying more expensive ships for OBs. For instance, a destroyer yields one size OB, a cruiser delivers a stronger, more long lasting OB with a greater radius, and a Battleship would deliver the largest and most powerful OB of all. If the new districts are as big as they are said to be, then our current OB's will be tiny by comparison. Larger OB's would also require the ship to stay on the satellite longer, so with higher risk in terms of ship cost and time in orbit comes with higher reward in the form of more powerful orbitals.
2. Scan Support: Right now there is only one way Pilots can help support Dust players. In order to expand the role Eve ships play, exploration fitted vessels such as the stratios and asteros should be able to periodically light up every enemy player on the map. This would work like an OB, the stratios would have to stay within range of the orbital satellite and once the scan was spent the satellite would reset. More powerful and long lasting scans should come with more expensive modules.
3. Logistics support. Right now there is a de facto, invisible and invincible warbarge over every dust battle that provides vehicles and installation report. In Legion, these warbarges should be piloted and vulnerable. If the warbarge is destroyed or chased off the district, the battle doesn't end, but players do lose access to vehicles and installations. Likewise, the warbarge should have a limited number of RDV's and if these are destroyed no more vehicles can be called.

The ability to circumvent land battles entirely should come with the risk of losing the most expensive ships in Eve as well as a thirty minute stay at the orbital satellite.
In terms of lore and 'cool factor' this would be a great idea. In terms of game play and balance, lolno... very bad idea to implement something like this. |

1: I'm fine with that, just make Warbarges have better OB capibilities.
2: We'll need new modules, but sure.
3: We should be able to link another one so that won't really be a issue. As for the RDV's, imo they should be like drones (only automated), so they would have a RDV bay or something (maybe just use a drone bay, but like the Carriers only allow RDV's?)
4: DD's would just get abused to hell. I don't even think that Titans can warp to a planet.

Titans can warp anywhere a regular ship can. What a Titan cannot do is:
* Use stargates to move between systems (it requires another pilot to fly to the system, fitted with a special module that allows it to generate a cynosural field. Training to use it takes a long time.); and
* Go to hi-sec space (like all capital ships, excluding the Orca).

Pretty sure Orca is not a capital ship. The Rorqual is the ORE capital ship and is not allowed in Hi-Sec |

I know those things. I just couldn't remember if a Titan could warp to a planet or not.

Look at the bottom of this page, under the list of "capital industrials" are two ships, the Orca, and the Rorqual.
Orcas are sometimes used to smuggle boosters through hi-sec space, due to it's special holds.

Ah okay. On the ISIS in game its listed as an Industrial Command Ship and the Rorqual is the Industrial Capital Ship looks like just a bit of a difference in naming I guess.

Firstly, I already cleared that up with him.
Secondly, you're still doing the overly extended ellipsis.

You can't be a forum warrior unless you ARE on 24/7. It's the difference between Champagne and sparkling wine.
