According to lore the four mayor factions adapted the sleeper clone tech and created the faction troops we have now. Offcourse years have past since that moment and the four factions now fight there wars on the ground using the mercs for planet control.
However we are that...Mercenaries..... As it is now we have the suits for the four empires; Caldari, Gallente, Amar, Minmatar, aswell as there state counterparts. And they look great, but they only allow us to be one of those. Now i am a mercenary, so i should be able to choose what faction i want to work for or who's gear i want to use.
There are 5 pirate faction and 10 minor factions, for whom we fight for in dust on a daily bases (there corporations). But we never get to use there gear. And surely by now these factions would have adapted the clone tech aswell. In EVE capsuleers might not be able to choose to be born in those factions, but they can fly there ships. So we should be able to wear there suits aswell.
The pirate factions for those that don't know them are; The Guristas; they use Caldari and Gallente tech combined The Serpentis; Gallente and Minmatar tech combined The Angel Cartel; Minmatar and Gallente tech combined The Blood Raider Covenant; Amarr and Minmatar tech combined Sansha's Nation; Amarr and Caldari tech combined
Now the other 10 minor factions are just that, factions within factions and have no real impact on EVE shipwise other then Concord, Sister's of EVE and ORE. So it should be the same in Legion aswell.
In Legion and offcourse with CCP Z's idea of how he would like to see the suits beeing used, divercity is the key. We want to make our suits look unique, but beeing unique is more then just a paint job and logo's, it's also beeing able to choose what kind of mercenary we are or want to be or want to look like visualy on the fields of war.
So i would like to see the birth of these factions within Legion. Not just in name, but also in gear, even if it's just one or two suits per faction for now. The pirates would have adapted the clone tech to suit there treacherous needs, Ore would have used the clone tech to be able to mine the planets/protect there miners and the Sister's of EVE would have used the tech to save the mercenaries below in the face of death. So finding there suits/loot on planets is the most logicall next step for Legion.

Definitely.
Faction suits should however, of course not be too easy to find, maybe just as salvage or in a faction store I can't wait to see spikey sansha suits out there.
PS. Sisters of EVE use Amarr and Gallente tech (and require these skills) Mordu's legion use Caldari and Gallente tech |

Or they could be purchasable with the correct LP amounts.
CCP Z mentioned that he wanted suits to be BPO and while I don't agree with that it does open up some interesting avenues of LP and character progression.
E.G- We earn LP at a stead rate right now something like 150 LP per match or so. If Suits are BPO's and a new suit BPO costs 100,000,000 ISK, then an LP costs 250,000 LP for the individual suit.
If you want more suits you need 250K x Suits desired LP.
LP Suits would still then be very rare and hard to get.

And everytime you do get a new suit, it would be like upgrading the one your wearing. That's one of the things i do like about EVE, when you look at your character you can get different styles clothes/tattoo's for it to make it a little bit unique. To bad the best ones are very hard to find.
But i suppose legion will go the same way, with very rare and unique suits to wear. I think LP stores should have there own kind of style of suit, that way people will want to play faction, just to get those suits. Now if they made the helmets loose of the suits, so we could switch and match, we could also get some wicked helmets...... |
