I hate to break it to you, but hitboxes are the same on male and female characters, so the wider-LOOKING shoulders aren't making the male characters any easier to hit.

When you are running haplessly along, and you see a teammate in an out of the way place (I am typically between 400-600meters from whatever objective I am covering, and I am effective in that range), I and many other snipers would appreciate a wide berth. Don't come running over just to drop a nano hive at our feet. Those of us that are likely to live long enough to require a nano hive typically HAVE them equipped on our drop suits. We'll drop them when we need them, and not before. Dropping a nano hive is a great way to invite the enemy to shoot at us. It's nice that the nano hive range bubble no longer flanks us in neon lights, but it's still obvious when you get your crosshairs over it. They may not be able to actually SEE me because of my dampeners, but they can surely see that nano hive you just dropped at my feet, and there's a good chance they'll send some bullets at me just to make sure there's nobody there.
One little tip: People do this to SNIPERS and COWARDS HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, not to female characters specifically. This is primarily because people DON'T LIKE SNIPERS, and are deliberately trying to draw enemy attention to you. These people are idiots, but they're also mostly the kind of people who don't come to these forums, and won't see this message, and will continue to do it no matter how clear you make your distaste for their actions. If they DID come here, they'd see a sniper complaining about being trolled for being a sniper, and they wouldn't feel guilty, they'd be happy that they made you rage, and they'd find your suspicions of sexism quite silly as well as hilarious.

I have both male and female characters, and getting cornered in the Warbarge is only slightly more common when I'm running a female character. Getting people swarming over me in-game is totally unrelated to my character's gender, and purely based on how I play. If I sit in the redline, I get people dumping Nanohives on me assuming I'm a sniper. Sometimes they're hoping to reveal my position, other times they're hoping to farm resupply WP from me.

If you're parking yourself in one spot and that one spot isn't allowing you to cover AT LEAST 2 objectives, you're a bad sniper. As such, you probably deserve the treatment you're getting from idiot teammates. If you're setting up in SENSIBLE positions, then most of the idiots won't be seeing you anyway. If you keep yourself mobile like a GOOD sniper usually does, then most of the idiots will give up after your first reposition, and the rest will stop when you move the second time.

As mentioned, people are doing this on purpose, BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT'S OBNOXIOUS. Complain all you want, you're just reassuring them that their attempt to annoy you is working. Reposition and pretend it didn't happen. They'll get less fun out of it that way. |
