And yet people are hailing it as the reason scouts are op... No. Cloaks are decent, they let you get in close. But the REAL REASON they're op is just because hit detection is too damn broken to hit them for enough damage without using a combat rifle or hmg because of the fast fire rate. Duvolles work good as well. Lol ewar. Lol cloak. Omgwtfbbq blue-shielding invincible scouts sponging bullets.
Fix hit detection and scouts will be instantly balanced. Since when does NS give a **** about whats OP and, how to stop the exploitation of whatever is OP, hell thats all they have done since Ive been in this game....... |

Nothing personal pothead im just pointing out that your corp has always taken advantage of whatever was exploitable, not that I dont agree that hit detection is a problem, but strafing is legit defensive strategy, as moving targets are harder to hit, however out strafeing every shot is improbable and therefore highly suspect. Scouts themselves are not the problem, but coupled with a cloak and shotgun they are indeed too powerful, certain scouts though not all are too powerful when compared to the other scout. I think Cal and Gal are centainly more dominant than Minja and Ammar, and even between the top 2 I think most would agree Gal is the most dominamt. This is not simply due to hit detection.
There are a host of factors, including built in reps, built in dampener, and 4 low slots, the Gal bonus is so powerful simply because it starts off with more dampening than Cal has precision, and the complex dampening gives 25% while precision complex mods give 20%. Meaning all things being equal dampening always wins, and combined with the cloaks dampening affect creates a scout that is invisible to everything. The Cal on the other hand lights up everything like a christmas tree and since our radar on passive scans allows you to see which way the enemy is facing this creates an unprecedented opportunity of precise sneak attacks and prefire around corners, which can only be countered by the op gal scout.
My point here simply being welcome NS to the world of trying to figure balance, glad you came, but this issue wont be fixed with better hit detection. |

Yes, hit detection could be improved and all, but let's be realistic when we toss around terms like "OP" ... When we see 50+ KDRs on the weekly leaderboards, are we looking at Scouts or Tankers? 50+ is def tanks, scouts are op vs assaults and logis for sure, heavys not so much..... |
