Upgrading your Cardiac Regulation & Kinetic Catalyzation only help if you have those modules right?
Kind of bites when you think about it... Can't you just practice running faster? But in this game you also need something in your dropsuit to make that into a reality |

Upgrading biotics makes you slightly faster.
Because, that's why.

If you use armor plates it slows you so you can switch to ferroscale or reactive. This will work better after HF Alpha.
Because, that's why.

So are you saying that you don't need modules but just the skill to run faster?

You are correct. Skilling into them does nothing unless you equip them. Upgrade biotics, this applies to all suits. It's not a lot, but it helps. |

Like Ermagerd Im Dead said, Cardiac Regulation & Kinetic Catalyzation you do need the module. However, with Dropsuit Biotic Upgrades you get +1% regardless of you having the modules; the effect applies to sprint speed,maximum stamina and stamina recovery per level.
Secondly, I agree with you on not wanting to reduce the armor, so let me shed some light:
Basic Ferroscale Plates: 30HP, 0 Movemnt penalty Enhanced Ferroscale Plates: 50HP, 0 Movement penalty Complex Ferroscale Plates: 75HP, 0 Movement penalty Basic Reactive Plates: 25HP, 1HP/s recovery, 0 Movement penalty Complex Reactive Plates: 60HP, 2HP/s recovery, -1% movement penalty
I know that the last one has a penalty, but it isn't that much. It would be like you have 1 lv less of Dropsuit Biotic. So a lv5 would run like a lv4.
Also if you increase the Armor Plating skill would give you 2% more HP/level to the plates.
Ex, with Lv. 5: =============================== Basic Reactive Plates := 27.5 HP
Complex Ferroscale Plates := 82.5 HP (Notice: Basic Armor Plates has -2% speed & 85HP or 94HP w/ lv5)
Complex Reactive Plates := 66 HP
One last thing, Dropsuit Armor Upgrades will give you +5%HP/lv on your dropsuit, and Dropsuit Shield Upgrades will give you +5%HP/lv as well. All these without decreasing your speed.
Ex. with Lv. 5: =================== If your dropsuit originaly has 180HP of armor it would then become 225HP. |

To expand on what Mattphi said and his examples, with biotics up to 5, I have found that I am able to add a basic plate or two and it not noticeably slow me down. Less resources than the other plates, and more armor. |
