Your assets are stored on the Tranquility Live Server, not on Sony's servers. The trick though is figuring out how they will change if they get transferred over.

I doubt they will transfer. The economy would be RUINED day one if they did that. People would just buy thousands of their needed modules. My guess is that ISK and assets will go poof, everyone will be given a certain amount of non-tradable modules to get them started, Aurum dropsuits/equipment/vehicles will be refunded for Aurum, and our characters* will transfer. I am guessing Boosters will still be a thing but no modules for Aurum exist.
* Still not sure what we will lose when it comes to SP though.
The main thing concerns for me, that still have not been answered because CCP has NO idea how to handle it: BPO's. Sure, my Raven and Sever were 19,400 each. You can give me Aurum for those. But what about all the packs I have bought? Dren was straight cash money for BPO's. I can tell you one thing: I didn't spend 100 dollars for a bunch of skins. If they only become skins, that is really infuriating. That is Walmart exchanging my 100 tea set for a 100 dollar tea cozy. Same value but I can't drink my tea out of it.
And for fun:
13,500 Plasma Cannons. 1,500 ISK a piece. 20,250,000 ISK.
OH! That is 135,000 Plasma Cannons. Well, 202,500,000 then...
