Hello, I'm new here and this is my first question. It's a bit of strange question, but I hope someone knows the answer.
Recently, I notice that I can equip a SMG in light weapon slot. So my question is if I want to increase the damage the SMG inflicts do I use a light weapon mod or a side arm mod? The SMG is in a light weapon slot.
Also if I use the Minmatar Heavy Commando suit would I get the bonus in my reload speed, on the SMG? |

The mods that affect weapons are determined by weapon type, not the slot they take.
In this case, since an SMG is a side arm, it is affected by side arm mods even if it is in the LW slot.

If you were putting Sidearm Damage mods on an Assault suit the SMG + Magsec SMG would be a good combo, with the SMG being better at close range, and the Magsec being better at range.

IIRC the Minmatar Commando reload bonus is to all weapons. The damage bonus is only to projectile/explosive lights, but the SMG should still reload faster.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Thanks all for the reply it was realy helpful.
I'm thinking of using the combat rifle, mass drive, and swarm launcher inorder to take the most advantage of the bonuses and the damage mods. What do you guys think?
Also, I saw the info of the Commando suit that the reload bonus also only applies to light weapons as well. |

CR and MD are good ideas at the moment (who knows what will happen to them in the future), however, the swarms are really UP right now, and if you are new and have low SP, I would wait awhile before putting any SP into them.

Thank you for the advice, That is why in this event I have use most of my SP in Dropsuit Armor Upgrades and Dropsuit Shield Upgrades. It seems to me that CCP trys to nerf things up in order to get ppl to keep playing.
They nerf "A" and buff 'B' , so ppl will then rush to get "B" and drop "A". Later CCP nerf "B", buff "C", and make "A" decent to make people scramble for SP once more.

I understand this... it's just that I really enjoy chasing vehicles and shooting them. I found it rather entertaining. |

If that is what you really like, consider getting REs if you haven't already. It is so much fun sneaking up on a tank (usually best when they are preoccupied with shooting others), tossing a couple REs on the back, tossing a flux to blow their shields, then blowing your REs after the flux.
Otherwise, this post will give you ideas as well, even if you don't run this kind of role, or have these kinds of equipment. It might be something you are interested in.

I was thinking of this my self. I was going to equiping a cloak field and the RE on a Logi Suit , but I still need some SP to unlock RE and the cloak field. It's a good thing I have previously lvl. up Dropsuit Electronics and Dropsuit Engineering, cuz I'll need them.
Thanks for the link I'll look over it. |

At the point you are going to toss REs, you will be visible anyways, especially since the tanks have 3rd person view.
Some of the tanks have scanners, and it will be more important for you to be invisible to the tacnet for the purposes of the tank, and any distracted reds around it. They pay attention to tacnet far more than the battlefield itself.
The only benefit the cloaks would have in this particular instance is getting from pt a to pt b nearly invisibly. I would put them toward the bottom of your priority list.

That's good to know. I have completly forgot about the scanners. Than perhaps a better combo would be a nanohive and the RE.
What do you think about using kinetic catalyzer module and cardiac regulation modules to make a quick escape? You know, kind of a hit-it and quit-it scenario. |

Kincats are popular in terms of getting in and out like you say, and they would fit easier on the logi. Maybe with a cardiac reg, and at least one dampener.
Nanohive would definitely allow you to refill your REs and fluxes too, so it would be a good combo.
