Hi, Sedulam Boldia and welcome to Dust and the forum. Here is what I have see about the security status:
Security Status rating is use to determine the difficulty the players will be facing. |

Anyone would be so kind so expliain me please? Welcome As far as I have been able to determine the Security Status has no real meaning. I've been up against full squares of corps running pro to gear under a full range of Security Status numbers. I believe it was a carryover from Eve, that never received development. Meaning the intent was for Security Status to have meaning, perhaps tied to Meta level of gear useable, or some other mechanic, but it never developed further than a concept for whatever reason (probably not a high priority)
Only theory on my part no Dev confirmation on this point, though I would not mind hearing an explanation.

Hey, LIast has it mostly right. Security status is from Eve, the high the number the safer it is for a pilot. The galaxy is divided into 3 main sections. High sec, Low sec, and Null sec. High sec is a highly regulated area (think of it as beginner area) where one has to follow certain rules, the breaking of which is punished by an organisation called Concord. Low sec is a bit looser on the rules, people can do more here than in High sec, but there is still some rules and regulations. Null sec is a no hold barred, balls to the wall region where anything can happen
Almost none of this manifests in Dust, except that instant matches happen in High sec, and Planetary conquest and i think factional warfare in Low sec. The only difference is Friendly Fire is enabled in the last one.
I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.

I have a theory. Security Status affects the salvage earned in a match. The lower the security status the greater the chance for salvage.
When they talked about legion they mentioned it would be this way so I am certain this is what it was meant for.
Is it functioning in DUST? I don't know, I've been unable to verify as I always forget to note it. But I've always wondered why some matches give nothing while others give multiple items.
Pay attention next time you are in a low 0.1 Sec Stat pub match to see what salvage you earn compared to a high sec match.
