Rather than assuming that everyone fits their suit the exact way I would, I'd like to see how different people fit their dropsuits, so please list your fitting here. When 1.8 hit, I switched from Caldari Assault to Amarr Assault due to the Scrambler Rifle nerf. At first I used 2 enhanced armour plates, but found it was too slow and getting me killed. I recently changed 1 of the plates for a Kinetic Catalyser and it improved my survivability and battle performance a lot. I've not maxed out the Catalysation skill yet, so I still need to upgrade to the complex module. If the PG cost is too much then I'll just switch the Magsec SMG to the basic varient. I was also using an active scanner in my equipment slot until recently, but as another victim of 1.8 it's fairly useless now. I have no real need of a nanohive whilst using the Scrambler Rifle, so I've started using a repair tool due to its OP war point farming capabilities. I could upgrade this to a higher tier as well, but I need to increase the skill level first.

I always use a scout suit (before it was cool). I usually use my Dragonfly. I fit that either with plates to be an ok light assault or dampen to run as stealth. Otherwise, I use an adv. scout suit to be the stealth or ok light assault. I use a proto scout with plates to be a completely tanked out CQ or sniper fit. It can take hits allowing me to jump out of the way. I always use 1 complex damp and either plates or scan mods. Always a cloak, usually for travel. Don't usually use biotics. I use an SMG or Magsec and then whatever light weapon I want. Sniper rifle, AR, MD another SMG or Magsec or shotgun. I don't usually do the shotgun thing. I usually try to be some sort of marksman (if not outright sniping) and try to flank or fire from max range. Always try to be some sort of actual scout rather than ninja. I run an LAV or dropship otherwise for scanning and CRU. Yes, on beer or liquor nights I do enjoy playing a good game of Duck Hunt and redline snipe with little care for who wins or team play. Because I am not a tryhard. Otherwise, I fly my dropship over the hotzone daring people to shoot me down. Usually, I crash from drunk driving. THIS IS THE VOICE OF RÁN

EWAR Scout I have a dozen other fits for specific purposes or in response to battlefield changes (uplinks/hacking/speed, assault, stealth, demolitions, AV, sniping) but all based around the M/1 frame. A couple of fits using the M-I frame and BPOs for when the proto stompers are in and I want to save cash. A couple of fits using the mk.0 frame, for assault, stealth and/or EWAR which use all proto weapons, but almost never get used. And a single Heavy fit using the Template Sentinal (no skills) with an ADV HMG, for those special occasions. Knowledge is power

I use it to stay close to my Heavies and Logis and help out. Always at least one ADV or better prec enh and either dampeners, range enh, or both (sometimes a MLT KinCat because I haven't skilled into those yet) in the lows. My ehp never goes above 350, even on my proto suit. My alt has Min logis and a bit of Cal sentinels as well. Min Logi is dual tanked with shields focused on fast repairs. I hale putting on armor plates because I hate being slow, but I need high hit points. I use the CR but never proto and rarely ADV in pubs. I always have a triage repair tool (outside my links class) and I typically run a hive and injector with it. The Cal sent is shield rep tanked. I always have at least 1 energizer but have fits that stack them and/or rechargers and use either KinCats or regulators in the low. HMG is my preferred weapon.

I have level 1 skills in assault rifles, smgs and sniper rifles just to get usable clip sizes. Costs range from 3-15K. Tanks are 150-280K normally and ADS is 400-500K. Which is why the suits are free. Nobody at CCP cares because we ain't Legionnaires.

I use several variants with different combinations of gear at different tiers depending on the battle. Usually I have a Shotgun/SMG combo (mostly Standard Shotguns, sometimes Militia and occasionally Advanced, but almost always a Standard SMG). Modules are ALL Shield Extenders and Armour Reppers and nothing else EXCEPT on the GalScout where I sometimes throw in a Dampener instead of one of the Reppers. Equipment is always a Repair Tool in one slot, and the other can be a Nanohive or an Uplink depending on the enemy. If I'm short on PG/CPU, I first drop the Extenders, then all but one Repper, then either the Shotgun or SMG, depending on how much PG and/or CPU I need to free up for the fit and how important high-tier equipment and/or weapons seem to be for the current battle. I have a mostly-Proto variant of the fitting with Nanohives and Repair Tool, which uses Proto shotgun and Advanced SMG, but it's very rare that I use it. Just between the above basic fitting layouts, I have over a dozen different setups which are mostly duplicated across 2 characters, with only a handful that are only set up on one character or the other.
