Dont most those hacks get pickrd up by even the very basic anti cheat software? Running a clientside bitscan and a active programs running scan would make it easy to identify and ban them.

Im at work so i cant make a long post. But basicly you break clinet side code now into its binary compounts do some cleaver maths and u get a hex value. If ANYTHING is added or removed in this folder the value has to change and the servers seeing this value immdently tell the client to go away or run a scan to find the offending item.
The hacks via the GPU i cant summrise via my phone, but you basicly check whatthe input output to the GPU is, in the case of a wallhack normal their is missing data.
Executable programs are a scan of CPU priorty queue normally easy to spot and virus scanners tend to pick these up.
But all of the above is what that shell screen is doing when you boot up EvE or in the case of slow PCs why you get a slight pause every 10 minutes :-P

Most shooters come packed with antihack software, that will leave a background process scaning for hacks and stuff.
From the top of my head I know its running on my PC Punkbuster, but I am sure some other shooters will use other solutions.
Have to say that meeting hackers in the games I play is a fairly uncommon thing, cant remember meeting one.
People gotta learn to separate truth form sensationalism. Its not true that PCs are "full of hacks", nor is true that "consoles suck".
Just because youo find something on a google search dosent means its use is rampant or that it goes unnoticed.
I am most certain most hacks will end being used on unoficial, not tracked servers that dont matter anyway by people using pirated software, wich isnt of my concern since latelly I only play oficial stuff, since PC games are so cheap. |
