After playing EVE for about 4 weeks and playing Dust for about 1 year, there are some visions that haunt my dreams.
What if Dust was mixed 1:1 with EVE? What would this mutation look like? Would it be great? Would it be a still-born monstrousity? What if EVE had the dominant genome? What if Dust had? What may that tell us about Legion?
Here is my contribution for a EVE dominant mutant: You wake in your MQ, still gooey from a synthetic placenta. The room looks surprisingly good, with reflections and stuff, and you SIT DOWN for the first time on your couch, after looking at your custom made face in the mirror. You are overwhelmed by windows popping up everywhere and read through them to find some sort of tutorial. You study hard for about an hour, you fit your first militia gear, watch it on its fancy alcove and KLICK on the "depart" button. A starmap pops up and you choose some random lonely barren planet in a 1.0 Sec system, as your "exploration career agent" told you to. You are jump cloned into a npc exploration-MCC some lightyears away, just a few kilometers away from the relic site youre supposed to check out. You drop out of the MCC, fail to activate the inertia dampener and die as a beautiful street pizza. crap ... you respawn, jump out again successfully and order your vehicle after a moment of silent awe for the beautiful lighting. Your LAV is promptly delivered and you drive around the vast, open landscape for 5 minutes, approaching the probed down "planetary signature". You just had to fumble around with your civilian ground to ground probe launcher for 10 minutes, but it was worth it. Before you rises the majestic ancient ruin of a long lost colony. The silence of 10.000 years leaves you cautious, as you approach an ancient "data core terminal". You hack it via a neat little minigame. "Could do more of this" you think, as 3 rouge drones the size of dogs jump you from behind. You rip out your 9mm Rail-Rifle with Antimatter-Charges and shred them to pieces, take the civilian salvager you got for your last mission and loot "charred circuits" or something. With the loot and the data core in your backpack you get back to the MCC and call for a lift, to report back to your agent.
Personally, I like this vision. Whats yours?
The answer to your complaint is PvE. Always.
