CCP, why does the freaking amarr assault have less slots than all the other medium suits at proto? It's already bad enough not having my heat reduction bonus working, and then the slots are all fked up for all the Amarr Suits. If we are suppose to be the best armor tankers in the game. then why do gallante do it so much better? They have passive reps, they have more slots for armor (except on scout).
Please:
Proto Amarr assault needs: 2H/5/L also fix the bonus that doesn't work, I literally have 3 mil sp wasted into Amarr assault and 1.5 mil wasted in SCR which are pretty sh*t because 70% of people in this game armor tank and now since my proficiency 4 is worthless, I can't do sh*t to armor tanked suits.
Proto Amarr heavy needs: 1H/4L
Proficiency needs to buff the opposite damage. So assault rifle proficiency gives it 3% damage to armor per level. |

I agree with the majority of your post. 2/5 would be a fine slot layout, and Amarr assaults having less slots than everyone else is archaic and stupid.
However, couple of problems:
No, Amarr are not meant to be 'the best armour tankers in the game'. They are armour focused with a tendency towards buffer while the Gallente are armour focused with a tendency towards active - hence the Amarr having a larger armour HP base and the Gallente having some base reps.
Proficiency buffing the opposite damage immediately removes any point in having different damage types.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

if they would introduce proper EVE mechanics then the ammar are the pro's at resistance tanking, in EVE they are usually in it for the long haul even more then gallente(depending on the ship and it's bonuses, but for the most part gallente are active/buffer tankers while ammar are resistance/buffer tankers)...one can only dream |

Amarr are not able to get higher Armor than gallante at this curret state of the game, the gal havy can get 1200+ armor with 1 armor rep per sec while amarr gets like 1185 with no rep, the amarr assault can get 747 max with no reps which is equivalent to the max gal scout gets and gal scout get's 3 armor rep per sec. Also, they need to fix bonus ASAP, i find my self more successful with a militia heavy with CR than proto Amarr assault with proto SCR. |

Indeed, they're not able to. That's bad and needs to change. The Amarr heavy really ought to have been a 4L suit. The Amarr assault -at least- needs another low slot.
But... unsuccessful with a proto SCR and that monstrous heat bonus? I'm unsure what to think. It's easily one of the most terrifyingly powerful bonuses I've ever used.
Admittedly, sticking a CR on a heavy is pretty much the height of cheesemode given how absurdly good the CR is and the easy cheap HP you can get from the heavy.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

The bonus seems to be working reasonably well to me, though I use the LR, not the ScR. Perhaps Arkena can confirm this for the scrambler? (Edit: got ninja'd. Sounds like it's working for him too)
Slots def need work though, but you could say that about most of the medium frames, tbh.
Quitting cold turkey was impossible. The forum patch is helping me kick the habit!

No question it's the best bonus. It's the only assault suit that is not made totally obsolete by the scouts, imo.

Uh.
The Amarr are supposed to have more EHP and stamina, and they usually do so at a loss on other things, like speed and slot count, depending on the class. The Amarr is about survivability, so the _base_ stats will reflect this. This especially shows with the Amarr logi, which is the only logi to have a sidearm. They sometimes have as many slots as Gallente (high+low), but sometimes take +1 high and -1 low for the extra damage mod. The Amarr are survivalists.
The Minmatar are the opposite of the Amarr in that they take a loss to EHP for more speed and equipment/slots. The Minmatar are specialists.
The Caldari and Gallente are middle ground, and their stats are identical - if you swap shield / armor stats and high/low slots. The Caldari is shield focused. The Gallente is armor focused.
To say that the Amarr should have just as good or better armor than Gallete is false. Amarr focused on survivability, yes, but this does not (always) mean more armor. Amarr might take a hit on speed, but they have more stamina and can run longer with out stamina mods.
It's important to remember to look at base stats only when making the comparison. Just because you have more low slots does not mean the class intended you to be stacking plates. You can do that if you want. What you add to the suit depends on you. |

That's very true, but lets remember that in Dust the slot counts and base stats are not always balanced against eachother very well, which I must say is usually endemic to the Amarr suits, the slot counts are usually more gimped than they should be in exchange (In my not entirely objective opinion)

Didn't CCP state they were going to rework all the medium suit slots after 1.8? Especially for the Amarr now that they have the most inherent armor opposed to hybrid tanking, but still have equal highs and lows? When could we expect this?

What good is a slot if all you can ever fit on it is a CPU extender?
I have had both the Caldari and The Amarr assult suits at proto and they are fairly balanced.
In practical effect, those two suits have the same number of slots, or indeed, go to protofits and try and set up a Caldari suit without the use of a CPU extender, then take that suit and compare it to the Amarr.

caldari has 7 slots, amarr has 6. Also its 3H/3L which is a hybrid slot layout whereas the amarr suppose to be armor tanker.

You aren't supposed to "do $#!t" to Armor Tankers. Did you not read the description and research the Laser Profile before spending your 1.5m SP?
Let's look at the changes that would occur under your suggestion.
Damage Profiles at Proficiency V (Shields/Armor):
- Hybrid - Plasma: +10% / +5%
- Hybrid - Blaster: +5% / +10%
- Projectile: +10% / +10% <------------- LOL
- Explosive: -5% / +20%
- Laser: +20% / -5%
Now lets take a look at what you would accomplish by making those changes:
- Made Combat Rifles even more overpowered.
- Made Explosive & Laser Weaponry a jack-of-all-trades group, as opposed to niches like they're supposed to be.
- Made Projectile Weaponry the best profile in DUST 514.
- Nothing Constructive by any logical means
Perhaps you should think about what your suggestions would do, as opposed to simply spewing random ideas everywhere.

yes it is 3/3 which is 6 total slots unlike all the other proto assault suits that have 7 and 3/3 doesn't work so well anymore since now Amarr suits are more armor focues (120 shield/ 240 armor ) |

Atiim? wtf? Also, why does the gallante heavy tank more armor than the amarr. (amarr are suppose to have the most ehp and most armor while gallante are suppose to be active armor tankers. Also I forgot to add specialized weapons as in this only applies to weapons that do 120%/80% or 80%/120%. Also, have you tried to use the scrambler rifle this build. It's the most shittiest rifle worst than AR. It over heats because you can even kill anything and its annoying asfk. with the damage nerf (huge towards SCR because it used to be a thing to use damage mods). Even with a proto amarr assault, it is impossible to kill a heavy without overheating at least once or twice. |
