Rattati, I do appreciate that the best use of what limited resources CCP has given you is to fix small things that have larger impacts and try to balance what we have. However, you may want to discuss with your senior management that this stripped down approach may be a lost opportunity in a number of ways. What IGÇÖve seen from you so far is essentially the only reason IGÇÖm writing this or even posting serious thoughts on the forums anymore. Your use of statistics and crowdsourcing is the best thing to come along in Dust in a long time. TBH, if CCP had done this, even with the skeleton crew theyGÇÖve been secretly giving us, we would be much farther along than we currently are! But, hereGÇÖs my point: some of your questions are more limited than they should be. Yes, we are not building a foundation here, necessarily, since Legion is a GÇ£resetGÇ¥ of sorts, but I think thatGÇÖs potentially squandering an uncommon resource in terms of balancing assets before making their legion equivalents. You have a semi-unique opportunity here in that you have a decent size group of dedicated and hardcore volunteer playtesters that have already proven that if you can make it, we can break it. IGÇÖm going to be realistic and state up front I realize there is a zero percent chance we are going to get jets, a player market, better EVE integration, pilot suits, new game modes, or completely new maps, etc. But, I donGÇÖt see why if you build a UE3 model of, say, an Amarr heavy weapon or light AV one for legion, you canGÇÖt put a less pretty version into Dust and let us do a stress test on them! You would accomplish a few things with this: We would be less pissed off that Dust is dying. You would definitely get players back and keep players that are currently on the fence. Aurum would be spent, IGÇÖm guessing. You would already have use and performance statistics for Legion, with less need for playtesting on the back end. Just give it some thought. I havenGÇÖt played the game since fanfest anyway, so if it doesnGÇÖt happen, I still wonGÇÖt play, nothing changes for me. The fact is that one of the most important things I think CCP can take away from shifting how they interact with Dust is that openness, transparency, and crowd sourcing with the community can multiply your man power and make a better game. This process is something that CCP Shanghai can carry into any project they work on whether it is Dust or Legion. I see no problem utilizing Dust (and improving it at the same time) to improving it's heir, Legion, but you have to be sensitive to the fact that Dust 514 is a released game that people are actively playing and, hopefully, enjoying. I don't disagree at all, but at the moment it's clear that this "released" game is, for the most part, going to remain in it's current unfinished state for the rest of it's (likely short) lifetime. For the forseeable future, we are not going to get the game we wanted, only the one we have. I see this (the OP) as perhaps the most effective line of thinking to convince CCP to expend more than a token amount of development effort on it. IMO, if the only way for us to get the full complement of basic content we have been missing for over a year (in this case, all the missing Amarr stuff.. I mean, 3 weapons and no vehicles? really?) is to just resign myself to being a beta tester and appeal to CCP's desire/need to get Legion "right" the first time, I'm okay with that now. Obviously I would not have been a month ago, but, if you'll forgive the cliche', it is what it is.
