So, one of the devs wanted some new ideas. So here's one: Joint exploration.
So, you can do two things here. Both are new type of sigs.
The first will work like a new type of date and relic site. Scan it down in space, ship flys to the site and deploys mercs into either an old wreck to search for salvage, or like a station to search for various loots. Legionaires get battlefield salvage, guns and such, and eve players get salvage or data junk that spooges out every so often, depending on what they find and do.
The second, actually requires scanning down planets. You park your ship in orbit, and deploy a new type of probe and scan the surface of a planet for wrecks or other activity, and then people are deployed to the surface.
Now, to make things interesting, you throw in some hostiles. For salvage, rogue drones seem like an obvious choice. For data, I'm thinking random mercs would be easy to do, but npc mercs could work out pretty well.
For exact mechanics, remind me to elaborate when I am not dead tired and fuzzed out. |

Its interesting but there must be included a mean to make the exploration "out of sync".
I would sugest that the ship scaning for anomalies, once it finds the planetary anomaly, he can then "bookmark" this site and create a contract including the bookmark for the site location.
This contract can either be private, directed tot he merc you want to run the site, or public, meaning if will be up for grabs for a random merc group to pick up.
Theres nothing prohibiting that both parties are online at the same time, but the Contract mechanic already exists in EVE and it would seem reasonable that it woudl be easy to Legion get access to contract data, and that woudl be a nice and easy means to integrate both games.
The contract thing is usual a practice in EVE, where pilots will scan anomalies/ earn escalations and sub-contract the execution to especialized players that run them fast and split the returns. |

Sounds good, just shouldn't be forced. As a Merc, I 'd like to just go down to the planet, grab my gear (using this idea), and just explore the district until I find a location (should have a way of tracking it down as well as knowing that a site is on the planet).

I really think the joint EVE-DUST actions should be approached from both sides, both forums. Too many actions are very one sided and they don't integrate well. A perfect example being orbitals. In FW they greatly favor EVE side in terms of reward, but they are also so hard to get set up in time EVE side. In PC they make a huge difference, but there is not much incentive for an EVE pilot to drop OBs except to help their friends.
Blehh..
