To me it all comes down to the merc packs and BPO's being cut from the game, up until that point I know the majority of players were using boosters, collecting BPO's and loving the game despite mistakes on ccp's part.
The moment they removed the merc pack it was like them raising the price on subs, we'd need to pay more to get less then we were getting before, they removed BPO's which helped out newbs quite a bit, and although I agree with the idea, they didn't replace it for new players to help them out.
more then that they could of kept the nice collectors items and perhaps reworked them into something else that didn't break the game.
end of the day this was the moment I saw a large portion of the player base just stop spending money on the game, and now a long downward spiral later we are here.
the game closing down due to the game not making enough money. |

The new packs were a horrible idea, the old ones were so much better.

I truely slowed down once 1.8 came out but I agree when they started removing boosters and explaining some of the stuff they were doing it looked like it was going down hill. Lets just hope we keep our SP going into LEGION :)

Removing of the Merc Pack and BPO's was a giant red flag. Incidentally, that was the time it turned out they decided to f uck us all and take the money and run to the PC.

by the time 1.8 came out I was only buying boosters when sp events were happening and only active boosters, I haven't used a passive booster since the merc packs came out
after fanfest even that will stop. |

When I found out that there will never be:
Amarrian heavy weapon, amarrian vehicles, amarrian grenades, amarrian AV, or anything more than dropsuits and 3 weapons... welll that pretty much killed Dust for me.

Slightly off topic but your sig is a bit misleading.
He wrote those things in his book Nineteen Eighty Four but he was criticising how the government was using them and how sheep-like people believed them.

Yep right then as well. Last thing I bought was the veteran pack for the LAV BPO just before Uprising I think. Since then I have been using the balance of my AUR to purchase boosters but never bought a thing since then.

When Planetary Conquest came out, and we were restricted to one part of the Galaxy no one cared for in EVE. I started realizing it was dying about then. I don't know why I didn't accept it.
