After Fanfest I created an EVE account, because I wanted to try that thing out that CCP wants to tie Dust into so much. I must say I had a great time. The most interesting thing for me is Planetary Interaction. You can go to a planet, scan it and place an industrial network on it. Kind of like a little city.
The implications for a Dust side of Planetary Interaction are fascinating. Just imagine:
1) You could create structures on procedurally generated planet landscapes (then fixed once created). As a player of EVE and/or Dust, visit your planetary infrastructure in person, not just look at the abstract schematics from above 2) See and access the structures of other players, both from EVE and Dust (if not protected) 3) Raid said structures for ressources in storage there if unprotected 4) Hire mercs or being hired by others for protection of said structures 5) Destroy everything with artillery, airstrikes or orbital bombardment
The answer to your complaint is PvE. Always.

I'm hoping something like this will be in the game, as PI can be used as a template for anything from maps to different gameplay types.
I can't stop imagining having different kinds of PVE and PvP content on PI installations. Getting 'rid' of Drones on a PI installation affecting efficiency [pve], taking down Worker strikes [pve], stealing resources [pvp] to complete takeovers [pvp]. Stuff like that can really tie both worlds together.
but I don't get my hopes up too much :(

PI just seems so obvious a place to put in EVE-Legion integration, so many possibilities.
I also like the idea of bringing a few mercs along to raid ancient relic/data sites for extra loot (on both sides) |

Yeah, it is such an obvious point that I have serious hopes for the points above. I think a timeframe of about 5 years is not too unrealistic. I ll be ready ;)
