I'm not sure if you realize this or not, CCP Z, but...
The skill trees are supposed to be separate.
I don't want to skill towards Scouts so I can use a specific weapon for my Assault dropsuit, nor do I want to skill towards Logistics for a weapon to use with my Scout dropsuit. You may think you're making the system more accessible, but really you're just dumbing it down. |

Why are they supposed to be separate? Why should you be conveniences instead of the new berries who haven't a clue what's going on?
Why can't you spend a small amount of SP to unlock another role, anyway?
I've just broken 40M; I have fully specced HAVs, a proto Assault, proto Logi, Sentinel to 4 (thanks to the Mauler event I'm not going to 5 for a while) and I'm currently going for scout. All I need after this is ADS, and it will be able to play nearly every role in the game (except sniper. Screw snipers).
All this is requiring you to do is to spend a very small amount of SP to unlock the first two levels of the tree (i.e. Dropsuit Upgrades and Core Upgrades, and all of the weapon choices optimised for that role will branch off the way equipment do.
It really isn't that complicated, and the reasons people are complaining are totally the wrong reasons.
Reasons you should complain: module walls - I don't want to have to skill heavy to engage in basic customisation of my suit,ikr adding plates to my assault, and I'm worried that will take place - after all, plates are integral to an assault or logistic role in a way that a CR is not to a scout, or an RR to a heavy.

The forum police is strong in this thread... All i keep hearing is wrong thread to post in or whats the need.... The reality is that thread is at its 13+ page. Most of the things there will be lost to the regular forum visitor that will not spend hours reading every single triple quoted post.
This is a touchy subject and if he feels the need to make a seperate post to feel like he will be at least seen, the he has the right to.
