The promise of character transfer is a promise I'm not convince CCP will keep. I don't doubt they would if they easily could, but just as Dust on PS3 was full of broken promises due to technical limitations, I see no reason why changing a skill system, and economy, and possible pay scheme puts everything in the air.
So I ask to anybody who has a solid, "You better hold us to this" answer. I have boosters, a lot of SP from playtime, a lot of ISK, BPOs, Aurum, and gear in general.
If SP transfer in one form is there I will continue to grind and expend my remaining boosters.
If there is an AUR refund I will hold onto my boosters, and get an AUR value back.
What are the most likely things to be carried over and what should I do in the meantime to prepare my character for the best transition?
I want to continue to play and support these games, but now that certain things may have no future I'd appreciate guarantees.

All good questions. Even if there isn't a system by which they transfer everything over, my guess is that they can do it via ticket. I mean, they know your account so they can just copy it over. A HELL of a lot slower but they can.
I asked Saberwing about it:
Joseph: I have a lot of spare AUR and Boosters. Is it better to save them for Legion or use them as it shouldn't matter?
Saberwing: I honestly can't give a suggestion because the transition stuff isn't totally ironed out yet!
Joseph: What would you do? Which is easier for CCP down the road or "no comment"?
Saberwing: I'd (personally) probably enjoy the moment. I'm not sure about what's easier down the road!!
So, really, they don't know. For me, I will keep running my Passive Boosters because SP should transfer over and if they don't it doesn't matter because I already got them. I am saving my Aurum though and I am not buying anything else. I think not buying anything else is hands down the best bet at this point, at least until there is a clear set in stone statement. At the moment, not even CCP knows yet.

I've kinda accepted that I won't take everything, but for example I'd be miffed if I used the remainder of my boosters and found out there would be AUR transferred but not SP (or some equivalent) or vice versa.

At the bare bones minimum, I expect at least some of my SP and all of my BPOs carried over.

Agreed..... I mean, my Black Eagle/Quafe suits and AUR would be nice as well.
