I thought of this as well it makes more sense for Drop Uplinks to actually Drop you, not to mention where they get so many clones into a single CRU.
I think standard CRU Installations and Drop Uplinks being converted to Jump Tethers
Looks like its back to FPS Military Shooter 56

Those are actually cyclotrons, or so CCP has claimed.
But that does ask the question: why are there cyclotrons on a dropsuit?

Why not drop from orbit in a capsule that drops open as soon as it lands? Tho section 8 really nailed the height that you drop. can't remember if they orbit dropped there. just saying. |

It would be nice if my suite had a wing, like in paraglide suits, so that i could glide towards a surtain position instead of dropping straight down. |
