When I read the descriptions of the weapons, I notice something kind of disappointing.
They're all incredibly vague and fairly short descriptions.
"Using microscale railgun technology, the sniper rifle effectively weaponizes velocity, putting an inert round downrange in excess of 2,500m/s. The standard round is a 2-inch GÇÿbeehive' flechette, loaded automatically from a center-mount pack. The pack design eliminates user intervention and minimizes reload time while simultaneously allowing for future upgradeability; different ammunition configurations require nothing more than switching out the rifle's pack."
A few things I find wrong with this:
1. The standard round is described as a 2-inch 'beehive' flechette. What is that? What does it mean? The only thing I can extrapolate is that the standard round is two inches long (probably), and it's a flechette. It doesn't mention the caliber or the material. It doesn't even mention the physics other than it goes "in excess of 2,500m/s".
2. What are these other ammunition types? I'm curious. In fact, I would very much like to know. Yet the only time it's even mentioned in the context of lore, or even mentioned at all, is in this description. I've been left hanging!
Perhaps worse is the fact that other weapons rarely seem to mention the ammunition at all. In fact, almost no attention is given to the weapons at all, and it's only gotten worse with the new weapons. CCP, we want to know all the insignificant little details, just as we want to know the significant ones. What kind of ammunition does the Rail Rifle use? Is it the same round that's used in the Bolt Pistol, or a different one? Does the Plasma Rifle ammunition share any meaningful similarities with other blaster ammunition like those in the Ion Pistol, Shotgun and Plasma Cannon?
It torments me! Everyday I wonder about these things! CCP, I must know these weapons!

It'd be cool if in Legion, weapons sharing the same ammunition could have any ammo in them taken. It'd be a skill that recovers the percentage of ammo a weapon has left, with skilling into the weapon max allowing for total ammo recollection. I ask this be a pretty deep sink however in terms of time to play, because veterans could never run out of ammo.
