The game seems so intense as of late. After fanfest, I've consistently been placed in matches that were neither one-sided nor boring.
Every match is crazy. Almost everyone is running proto and not giving a f*ck about dying. I've honestly been placed in more matches that came down to cloning the other team out rather than capturing objectives and letting the MCCs explode. More people are squadding up and orbitals seem to be pouring out from both sides.
I haven't had this much fun since the early days of open beta. Too bad this will be short lived. Once everyone has exhausted their assets, I assume the end of Dust would be near. |

Wat? I got into a match the other day against a squad of Capital Acquisitions and Dark Legion. I wish I could get into these matches you're talking about. :'(

I wouldn't expect assets to be used up that quickly.
Hundreds of millions can be surprisingly stubborn to shift when you don't want them.

My main has 580 million - thats gonna take me at least 58 weeks to burn through, by then i'll probs have another 300+ million *sigh*
Thankfully i only have ltd supplies of Thales (so they'll be gone in a month or 2)

I've been having a lot of fun games as of late because of the lack of f*cks given by people. Sadly, after this weekend, the isk I had burned through has returned with friends...
I 'support' EVE:Legion. Since the PS4 is just a dream, make it easy to sell our characters and our Beta access...

Blasphemy! This is new eden not battlefield! That game is so boring because everything's free remember!? And CoD is boring cause deaths don't matter! Has this community forgotten it's ignorant assumptions about games they haven't played!? |

Unfortunately the gameplay isn't good enough to justify those comparisons; the gameplay in BF and CoD is superior; the only thing DUST has going for it is the economy. It definitely is fun, and adds a sense of permanence to the game, and helps shore up shoddy gameplay for those that appreciate the economic side.
But sometimes it's nice to just cut loose.

Yeah, I agree the matches have been more exciting lately. I've been sticking to basic suits with advanced mods about 70% of the time and I've been doing better than I'd expect. You can really see the Freudian death drive coming out in the community, the effects of which seem to be less focused play, making the game more fun for lone wolves, such as myself.
I've been driving tanks a lot lately for the first time and they are a flipping blast! I've gotten my azz handed to me on a number of occasions, but I've also had some pretty insane matches, where I end up at the top of the leaderboard with 1000 WP more than the number two. So far, my favorite tanking activity is tank hunting. I'm not afraid to make it rain Sicas!

Dust 514 is now  a free-to-play lobby shooter!
Nobody trying to grind the sp cap, no impactful reason to awox, fewer stomp squads trying to achieve/maintain relevance...this game feels less like a second job and more like a...um, what's the word..."fun"* experience.
*too long in New Eden. And by "in New Eden" I really mean "having a starmap of New Eden to look at."
Today is the sort of day where the sun only comes up to humiliate you.

That's funny, because I got placed in a 5v5 match. I left after that game and announced Dust as dead.
I was thinking of running a lottery to officially quit and give it to the winner, but that requires a bit of effort. Before anyone asks: I got around 50 million isk. Also, no. I won't give it to just anyone al willy nilly. That would also rely on me signing in again to give the isk.
I'll have to run that lottery one of these to those that DO play this undead game. |
