So far I agree with all the ideas to take this game to the next level but without nailing some key basic features this game will remain unappealing to the vast majority of FPS players. Mtacs, jets, OBs, sky fire batteries, etc are pie In The sky items that need to be backburnered until we get the polish that defines a modern FPS in the current and future markets.
Better 3rd person character animations. Dust mercs lack the frame rate and fluid movement that modern FPSs come standard with. Currently there is no sense of power, momentum, or realistic movements. It's blatantly obvious that our toons have a run animation, standing animation, and walk with no transitional animations that make it look realistic.
For over a year the ADS needs to be brought up to speed. It breaks immersion when the red dot of the scrambler rifle stays centered on the screen while jumping while the rest of the scope moves downward off screen. Ads is also very clunky and has a very 2D effect on all weapons.
Sound: get some better high quality sounds. The last upgrade in sound was a year ago and it went from pong quality sound to DOOM2 quality. It's a step in the right direction but still needs a lot of work. Give us something that makes the hairs on the back of our necks standup and not the flat sounding effects that make our automatic guns sound like someone throwing pennies on a plastic cutting board.
Basic things like these can go a long way with increasing the feeling of being part of a world, universe , or war |

There's a great Fanfest 2014 vid about the graphical stuff their working on. Environmentally it will be a great atmosphere, and they did talk breifly about updating the animation

...You've never used a real holographic sight before, have you? Because that's how they work.

The environment is another way to improve immersion. During the Dust (aka Legion) Keynote at fanfest you can clearly see a massive orbital strike far out in the distance in the background (looked like a Dreadnaught just glassed the area) which really made it feel like there is another battle going on nearby. I found that to be very immersive.

It's a projection/reflection on the glass. When the glass has literally moved off screen and the dot remains square center in the middle of the FPS field of view it's poor programming, not a natural effect. |

I know it's hard to imagine but try this... go get yourself a basic scrambler rifle. Go into ADS (Aim Down Sight) view then hit the jump button. Tell me what you see. |

Shameless plug for my new Legion idea relating to immersion.

Add civilian NPC's to this that can be shot, as well as roaming police and stuff.

Something like this?

I haven't seen this, though. I've never seen the dot move off of the glass. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a way for this to happen, but the SCR is my main rifle and I can't recall the dot ever escaping the glass.
