What's the best way to kill those bastards? They're too far into the redline to hunt down on foot. They're invisible so you can't snipe them.

Assuming they're actually invisible, you can't. If they're just tucked behind some good cover - get a friendly sniper to stand up on top of a dropship with a charge sniper rifle or something and get them some elevation so they have a good LoS on the target.

Typically counter sniping works if you knew where the shots are coming from. If they're in a heavy suit then use a forge gun or rail tank.

My favorite tactic...hoping into a dren sentinel suit, calling in a dropship, and bailing out over top of them. XD Good snipers will see you coming from the time you call it in, the others, well they create nice stories.

I've been testing this new sniper. Charge and trip damage mods. First match 26-0
Im a beta plr, this was just to see what changed since i beta sniped. Well, lets say that problem with scouts is gone for me. They have no chance. I think its funny, you can't even but charge sniper guns. That's how op that gun is. To funnnnn! |

All you really need to do is get within 600 meters of them once you do you can snipe them. However a good sniper will probably spot you before you spot them. So i suggest running a good scout suit with sniper rifle and cloak and sneaking up to a position to snipe them from. But it helps to know where they are shooting people from before trying to counter snipe them.

lol yeah so can i but most other sniper wont spot them specially if you stick the the edge of the redline while moving into a position to sniper that nasty bad sniper. I do love watching those dropships come after me after i have killed the same dude over and over its fun to run around while he tries to kill me with his militia turret and fails miserably

To find a sniper you can get a BPO suit or a mil suit and hide in a prominent place and come out of cover little by little as you scan through a sniper scope where you think they most likely are shooting from. Once you get hit then you know where he is.

I have been using this method, however a good sniper will move after they take down a target, implying that by the time I respawn and visually scan through the scope in the azimuth that I was just killed from, the sniper has already moved somewhere else and cloaked and remaining still hunting for the next victim.

It takes practice and its not really something that can be taught. I mean sure i can show you all the spots i use to snipe from and tell you where not to snipe from and show you were most others snipe from but that wont help you if some sniper decides to get creative and finds a good spot to hit you from. It really is something that takes time to learn to do. Besides even a cloaked sniper can be sniped back at since they have to uncloak to shoot at you and once they have uncloaked they usually will stay in the same spot until they kill you. Giving you time to take cover figure out where they are hiding and then snipe back at them. Make sure its a head shot you dont want to spend all match trying to kill the bastard.

I use a proto assault suit (caldari) load it up with shield and armor/armor repair and just let them ping me with a shot or two before moving so i know where they are. Once shields and armor are back up i just move slowly out and sniper the poor fool before he can kill me. Most are too stupid to find another spot to snipe from so they go back to the same spot and im already waiting for them and *PING* *THUD* and they are dead. Were you sit though is majorly important because you need to be able to take cover if your getting hit. Preferably a place that gives you cover from different angles.

I suppose the issue that I face is that I usually play a combat soldiering role, and I enjoy being down in the fray and fighting merc to merc. Occasionally, I get sniped. My principle on snipers is that if I am hit, then I will drop everything I'm doing and then counter snipe until there are no more snipers left on the map, then return to my line of play. I will also take a drop ship and clear out any nests of snipers if I discover them. But the point is that I deal with the sniper annoyance so that I can get back to what I was doing before.
The problem is that I am forced into a stupid hide and seek game with snipers that is completely contrary to the experience that I want from the game. In other words, I don't like having to stop what I'm doing, deal with spineless retards until they are demoralized enough to stop sniping and then revert to my goals in the match.
Cloaked snipers exacerbate the problem, because if the sniper relocates after tagging me and then cloaks, they are very difficult to find. I don't know if you have experienced this issue. As I have stated in other posts, the game favors covertness and I am well aware of that.
What I want is a quick way to locate and deal with cloaked snipers so that I don't have to sit and wait and wait and wait in an attempt to counter snipe, since I find sniping to be exceedingly boring and stupid.

Yes, either of these techniques seems to be the answer, since I do not yet have lvl 5 active scanners. Thanks to both of you for confirmation.

There really is no "easy/quick" way to snipe dude. If you want to run ground side without having to deal with annoying snipers then i suggest you find a good sniper that you can squad with that will kill those snipers for you. Sniping is a waiting game. It takes patience and time and many times you wont find the person your looking for unless you know were to look. And if they are moving around alot then good chances are you wont find them at all. If you dont have the patience to "sit and wait and wait and wait" then you need to find someone that does. And NO ONE can teach you patience for sniping.

last person who tried to use that failed to kill me while i was on an MCC. I just kept moving around til he had to leave cause of the red zone time then i would crouch down snipe another poor red berry and then stand up and dodge the Incubus some more :P So yeah a skilled sniper isnt that easy to kill.
