Soooooo..... I HAZ QUESTION
Is there a possibility of Legion ever working on the Steam Box?
For those of you who don't know what a Steam Box is, here is a link.

Well, yes, you could run Legion on a Steam box because it is just a M-ITX PC with a clever thermal zone design. However, if you are referring to SteamOS, that is something entirely different and there I am going to be even vaguer than CCP and say 'maybe'.
For Legion to work on SteamOS, the solution that we are looking is streaming it from your desktop PC to your low powered Steam box that sits under your TV. Another option (probably easier) would be to go with installing Windows on your Steam box, add a Nvidia card capable of Nvidia ShadowPlay and stream it that way and lastly, you would probably want to run this on a gigabit network.
This is just my theory and what I think you would need to make it work. |

Quite simply, I imagine that it depends in how will the steam box(es) sell. |

Now I am a p.c. scrub so take this comment with a grain of salt or whatever, but doesnt steambox = linux pc. Does the unreal 3 engine have a linux port? Does ccp even seem interested in putting eve on linux. So the answer is probably not much chance of it happening, unless SteamOS becomes the next big thing where all the money is. |

Not quite. Steam box is just the name for a "Valve branded" PC, which is still just a PC after all. No magical unicorn sauce on the hardware side of things.
As for UE3, I am unsure, but I know that UE4 has support for Linux and SteamOS. EVE was officially supported on Linux by CCP, but the small user base led to CCP dropping their support. |
