I-¦ve posted a few topics on this thread but my main question is about tools for a Commander (RTS) mode.
FC-¦ing in EVE is a whole lot of fun, and while there-¦s an abundance of information available, voice is more used than the ingame commands (enemy spotted and so on) for instructions.
In Dust, we have a kickass map with a lot of useful information, but we have to stop all we-¦re doing to access it, or waste a char to keep monitoring it and instruct others.
My question is: Do you have plans to allow some sort of commander mode where i can from my warbarge control room to access ongoing battle maps, instruct either verbally or trough some basic commands (head to, retreat, hold position, attack X, defend Y [Imagine the basic LoL instuctions], etc) the troops and monitor their status like the Aliens APC screens?
In my command mode i can see the regular battle map and give instructions that would appear on the soldiers HUD [Like a Medic request] and a text notification "New Command: Rally to X" [With X appearing on the field of vision of the players]
On a more advanced setting, i could select certain soldiers by clicking at them on the map and the instructions would only appear to them (if i wanted to tag a friendly as a hostile and order certain members to attack him without the others knowledge, or a secret order to a selected few)
Some of us excel at shooting, but others can process a lot of information and coordinate the team in a diretcion that could mean more than the sum of the individual parts.

What I'd like to see is something along the lines of Armored Core V and Verdict Day.
For those who don't know, you have an "Operator Mode" which allows an extra player on the team (battles are normally 4 vs. 4, but you can have 5 if there's an Operator). The Operator doesn't get to fight on the field (obviously), but has a top-down view from which they can deploy sensors and mark enemies for teammates. You can also scan enemies and identify weaknesses for your teammates to exploit (normally players have to do this for themselves, and it can be tricky during combat). While on the map view, you can bring up a picture-in-picture view of any team member and spectate, and you can make that view fullscreen with the map as the small screen instead. If you keep an enemy lit up for a few seconds and manage to scan them fully, you can also spectate through their view, which can be useful if you're good with it (and if your teammates can keep the target lit up for long enough). |

It still wouldn't be unique.
Natural Selection has been doing this for a decade.
It would be rare, though. |

This + the other features would make the game "unique" within it-¦s niche, but if you want to stick to the meaning, every game is unique in itself. |
