[Feedback] The DUST 514 Keynote retrospective piece leaned on fan material that was sub-par and probably already viewed by the interested DUST fanbase. The more controversial announcement of Project:Legion, while exciting news for down the road, was poorly received because no roadmap is available, and no information about the current product was revealed in the keynote dedicated to it.
[Request] I would really like to have more information about what is happening with DUST this year, what the DUST team is working on, and what you guys are thinking about there. Basically, I want the part of the DUST keynote that is about DUST. Simple things like this gem would be welcome and (I think) effective damage control for the current community reaction to the keynote. A devblog would be sufficient, but a brief recorded presentation would be ideal.
[Addendum, not necessary to read] When DUST was originally announced, I was expecting it on Windows. When it was announced to be PS3 I was surprised, but not bothered as I had a PS3 and I am a believer in squeezing as much out of a tech generation as possible. I've played since closed beta, and really enjoy the game for what it is. I'd have liked the persistent piece (Planetary Conquest) to have been more accessible, and was hoping for a new iteration of that this year. Not actually a dealbreaker that it wasn't there, but it is a system ripe for iteration without PS3 tech hurdles to vault.
On a personal note, while I maintain an EVE account, I don't play much anymore. In fact, the only game I really play these days (due to a wonderfully full life as an entrepreneur, eternal student, and soon to be father) is DUST. I'm okay with transitioning to PC in a year or two and going with Legion, but in the meantime am obviously still invested in DUST. Please let us know what is going on with OUR (cheeky, I know) game. That is, of course, unless you do want us to all **** off! |

Well we have this:
CCP rouge wrote: When it comes to DUST development I can tell you that we are currently looking at changes to Planetary Conquest, further iterating on item balance after Uprising 1.8 and some matchmaking improvements; all of which will be deployed as server-side updates. We currently don't have a date set for when you will get these updates.
I was vaguely hoping for the completion of some FanFest 2013 items, but racial parity on vehicles is obviously a client-side thing. I am glad that PC is on the table for some changes, although would love to see more details. It makes a lot of sense, actually, to have us poor, marginalized DUSTers test out as much revamped PC mechanics as possible prior to a real EVE-Legion connection to avoid a cluster like the one in Molden Heath.
Any details on item balance would be great as well.
Matchmaking changes may not make sense given the probable dwindling of concurrent players. Or maybe the matchmaking changes are to address that changing demographic. |

I think the PC is a good place for this game. I am sad though I have spent countless hours on this game, and I can't afford a gaming PC. They should try to put it on the PS4 as soon as possible. I would also like to say that they will lose alot of players by going to PC.

Thank you for joining us in this thread of melancholy laments. No tears and flames, just reasonable people sighing at the turning of the wheel of time and progress. |

Okay, I found this blue post about the possibility of Heavy Weapons being added to DUST still!
CCP Saberwing wrote:medomai grey wrote:]I've heard somewhere that new heavy weapons in Dust514 are actually on the table. I can't remember what fanfest video, forum post or recorded meeting I heard this from.
Things that aren't coming to Dust514 are player market and PVE.
Yes, this is true. I'm not sure who previously mentioned Heavy Weapons were "right around the corner", as they're not (even yet). But they're something we're working on for both DUST 514 and Project Legion and would love to implement in to DUST 514 as a content patch if possible. This isn't a guarantee that it will happen, but we're also definitely not ruling it out at this stage.
Also, it sounds like we will be hearing more about DUST later this week. |

I found it rather insulting that CEO Pyrex was asked by CCP to put together a funny video about Dust and then the original proto program was shown, more information about coming features and some sort of reason to keep playing the broken game we have now would be great.
Can we have an ETA on Legion please, don't want to buy a computer till I know what I need to run this

Welcome to CCP Rattati! It sounds like you have some investment in DUST as well! You also have your work cut out for you.
Based on the flurry of feedback requests that have been stickied, is it fair to say that there is no update currently in the works? But that based on feedback that we may get our "keynote" and eventual update?
The good news is that our expectations are pretty meager at this point. I am still having fun, though, and I think a lot of other mercs are, too. There is also still a real opportunity to try things out ahead of legion.
The first iteration of the new heavy weapons would be an amazing addition, and well above current expectations of a "server-side patch". Balance tweaks would be welcome and needed (especially IAV v. Tank). I'm going to post more in your threads since this one is not blue-tag popular. |
