CCP has mentioned before that the heavily modified version of UE3 that they're using now can pretty much be adapted to fit whatever you want to put in it at this point, but would that include Tesselation or Adaptive Tesselation?
If you're looking to provide high-quality visuals with larger environments and player counts without costing too much in performance, I would imagine that would be very useful.

If you're looking to provide high-quality visuals with larger environments and player counts without costing too much in performance, I would imagine that would be very useful. Probably. Tessellation is not something special, just like the lighting they can probably put it in.

Why did Saberwing not know this? It's not his job to know everything - in this scenario, his job is either to know who does know and point them at this thread, or to find out and post it himself.
It's just bad luck on Saberwing's part that the video explaining this was posted only about 30 minutes before the question was asked.
