So, here we are on the verge of change. Some of us are confused and others are excited. Even as we look to the future there are still many questions and a lot more concerns about what Legion is and will be. Or, if it will be at all. A bit of sadness as we know that our community is split and we will lose or have already lost people we have become friends with. Partners in crime and people who we trusted to watch our backs in the game. (Well as much as you could trust anyone in New Eden.)
However, in the mist of chaos we find ourselves at the cornerstone of this change. I can't say that at first I myself wasn't upset or that I still don't takes the bitter pill I was maid to swallow during fan fest. But, that pill in my eye might be different then others. I don't see Legion being the death of a game, but a rebirth. Something I imagine being everything I wanted in Dust. Unfortunately, my imagination tend to run wild and I let it get the better of me.
From my understanding, we have seen just a small fragment of what is Legion. Promises of PvE, open player markets, open world environments, & a bunch of other random things that when thought about sound amazing. We know that the PC platform have endless potential for the development of Legion. Unlike consoles, PCs are ever evolving. Even a port to the PS4 would have been eventually limited by the hardware of the platform. Not to mention that fact that any updates to the game would have to been reviewed and approved by Sony.
The move to PC was a great choice no matter how you look at it. It is better from a developer's standpoint, and it can breath new life into a game that has been stagnate for some time now. Where will we go from here? Some of our questions have already been answered. Will we have our time compensated with a transfer of SP / ISK / Assets? That answer is yes, but only in a fashion that suits the style of progression Legion will have. Other questions still continue to elude us, like:
What are the system specs we should be looking into when trying to run Legion on our PCs?
What sort of time frame are we looking at when we will see a playable Beta?
How can we trust that the new promises that CCP is making will be kept? (Remembering that everything that has been said about Legion was once said about Dust)
Legion from my current understanding hasn't even been "green-lighted" by the CCP CEO. So even with all of this we are not 100% sure that Legion will even become a reality. That of course being said, what happens if it doesn't get the green light? Will focus move back to Dust? Or, will the game be left to die off in pursuit of other projects?
I want to play Legion, but with the rumors that there being over a 1 year gap before the players get a chance to even test the product, how well does CCP think it will be able to retain any of its current player base?
TL-DR: CCP, you STILL, have a lot to answer for. Please don't keep us in the dark any longer.

I too am a little weary of promises made by CCP after long experience.
That being said, I have met, spoken to and drunk with JC a lot over the week at Fanfest, as well as the newer members of the team he's brought in like Z and the older ones like Atli, who he's seemed to energise even more than normal.
I trust JC when he says that he doesn't want to promise or say anything that he can't deliver. With him at the helm, I'm sure Legion will all we wanted it to be and more and that Dust 514 will not be ignored by the team while working on Project Legion.

Damn...Am I really that off base about the real questions that need to be answered? I see people writing about suggestions and what they want to see in Legion and those get plenty of attention. Blue tags and everything. Here I am asking real questions about what we should expect and nothing. I am setting myself up for a troll I know it, but damn. Would be nice if just one of my constructive posts got a blue tag with any sort of response. Seems only when I write my F you CCP thread does it get any attention lol.

@ OP - You put forth well thought out debate and good topics for discussion. You have said what a lot of players are legitimately worried about but you kept your cool and kept things rational.
I applaud you for your tactfulness.
As for an answer, I believe right now only the high level CCP guys can definitely give you an answer. Saberwing has said himself, he would very much like to do a Q/A session in the coming weeks, or some sort of video / blog with more details.
So keep this thread going and keep rational debate going.

I recall some of these questions coming up at fanfest. I'll try to answer what I can from memory, but I can not guarantee my accuracy.
TrueXer0z wrote:What are the system specs we should be looking into when trying to run Legion on our PCs? They don't know yet, but I believe they are looking to make it as scalable as possible.
TrueXer0z wrote:What sort of time frame are we looking at when we will see a playable Beta? As this is just a prototype and not an approved product in development, there aren't any timeframes at this stage. Sounds like they're not yet ready to set them.
TrueXer0z wrote:How can we trust that the new promises that CCP is making will be kept? (Remembering that everything that has been said about Legion was once said about Dust) Rouge has been pretty explicit about NOT making promises. I believe this is why the answer to so many questions is "don't know yet". They are saying that the PC has the right architecture to meet the original vision, but I'm pretty sure they have made no promises about what form that will take.

I don't recall this question coming up, but I'd honestly be surprised if they're actively planning for this outcome. I imagine this is a decision they'll make if and only if it comes to it.
I appreciate these may not be the answers you are seeking. This is a consequence of being on the bleeding edge of development as we are. It is far far too early in the process for anyone to give you concrete answers to your questions. If they tried, they'd probably just be speculating.

After the way Legion was announced at Fanfest 2014, after how Legionaries were portrayed and showcased in the Eve Online: The Prophecy Trailer, after the news about Dust 514 now being relegated to just getting minor updates and bug fixes from here on out as mentioned in the Digital Spy article, after this new push from the remaining masses on Twitter to convince Hilmar to green light the project, and after seeing a lot of Eve Online players in their forum drooling over the prospect of playing Legion on the PC, it would be completely idiotic for CCP to simply NOT green light the project. They had no problem green lighting Valkyrie almost as soon as it was showcased back in 2013 due to the positive reception it received by those who tried it out in person.
On Twitter: @HilmarVeigar #greenlightlegion #dust514 players are waiting.
