Sony will not issue a rerund, based on their Toc's because the product is not faulty.

Depends what you mean by faulty. Dust was primarily sold on promises for the future. Promises not kept could be rightly described as faulty.
But that's beside the point. It's not an issue of Ts & Cs, but of customer satisfaction.
Sony delivered a product to its customers that has subsequently p*ssed those customers off. If they're interested in maintaining a healthy relationship with those customers then they'll benefit from appeasing them.
It's basic PR. And IMO it's also in their best interest to distance themselves from CCP as much as possible.
RIP Stinky Sleeve.
RIP Dust514.
See you on Destiny. PSN: GSDSteVB

Wouldn't the countless fatal errors and harddrive checks count as faulty? Serious question. |

mabye not in the us. but over here in the eu we have laws to protect the consumer. and sony were willing to refund me i decided not to. my annoyance was at the lack of info i held out and was happy with what ccp are planning.
had ccp said they wouldnt transfear our toons then yeah actully people would still be getting refunds.

I really have to ask because I keep seeing this. Do you really think CCP will let a load of 50mil Sp vets jump into a new game? Seriously, you might get a nice Gun or module and your name.

I've talked a couple of people through getting Aurum purchases refunded based NOT on Sony's terms of service, but on local consumer protection laws (similar to the ones in place throughout most of Europe and the UK, among other places).
We were directly lied to by CCP staff at least a few times, and deceived through lies of omission on several points in the leadup to Fanfest.
My purchase of a Merc Pack back in closed beta? No grounds to ask for a refund. A purchase of Aurum 6 months ago? No grounds to ask for a refund. Buying Aurum 2 days before Fanfest to get Omega Boosters because you're looking forward to the announcement of what we'll be seeing on PS3 really soon, and maybe some news about the upcoming PS4 version? A refund is a totally legitimate and fair request with no grounds on which to refuse unless they decide to change direction (again) and deliver on the promises that purchase was based on. |
