Since Legion and dust are going to share the same engine and judging what i saw on the keynote wouldnt that mean that it is easy to port new stuff from Legion (weapons, suits and vehicles) to dust aswell? Even if its just a by product from legion that we would get new stuff i might eventually keep playing Dust. |

Possibly. Assuming the PS3 is able to handle the new content without causing serious problems like we had before. However, that user interface will be problematic on a console.

It just wasn't feasible to have the people who actually wanted to play DUST to play it when it was on PS3, as well as the lack of testing server.
Ever think that... DUST was just a experiment to see if the console market was what they wanted to put their real game on?
Think about it for a moment.
Because you wanted to be something you're not.

Not quite, Dust uses UE3, Legion is using UE3(heavily modded by CCP). No word yet if they will be using UE4 at a later date, but with all the modding done in-house the Devs seem quite satisfied to the point where they don't see the need for UE4.
Also, no word yet on a pay model (I hope it will stay F2P).

Well bravo CCP you've successfully completed your experiment I hope that data is valuable, your name is mud now.

i thought ccp's original dust was built on carbon but carbon wouldnt work correctly on ps3 so they swaped to UE3 and they planned on eventually porting the ue3 dust to carbon when ps4 was going to continue the evoution of dust some time later in the future |

Legion is using UE3, but heavily modified. It's similar in many ways to the same modified UE3 engine in DUST, but not exactly the same. There might be some portability, but it's very dependent on performance concerns (we've got more power head space with Legion) and architecture (Cell vs x86). Legion is not being developed with UE4 at the moment, but EVE: Valkyrie is.

OMG... UE3 is already 3 years old + 2 years development on PC let's assume... Legion will look 5 years old at released and competing against games with engine better than UE4 already
I mean, i really hope CCP will use UE4, especially as they already have purchased it.
And i guess Carbon is too heavy/nice to support large scale combats |

Are you doing Legion on UE4 since much of the foundation has already been laid down with Dust? And how difficult would it be to "migrate" over to UE4? |

Meh. UE3 is still plenty good enough. Legion is modified UE3 and it's still a huge step up from what we have on the PS3. Dust looks terrible in comparison and we've been playing that for a couple years now. That and people might not have to go hardcore with the upgrades to run Legion on PC.
